  • Inside their heads musicians are different. Information travels extra fast between the different parts of their brain, and there are also more connections between their brain and muscles. Brain and Music group at the University of Helsinki has researched how this affects their lives.
Music as a hobby helps you learn foreign languages and trains your fine motor skills. Singing and playing would also be therapeutic for the elderly and patients suffering brain injury - and make school days easier for children with learning difficulties.
Meet Professor Minna Huotilainen and see what happened, when two musicians let researchers test their brains while they performed.
