Two Lynx in Ontario Have Intense Conversation

- Nicole Lewis was driving on May 18 near Avery Lake, which borders Ontario, Canada, and the US state of Michigan, when she came across two lynx having what seemed to be some sort of territorial dispute.
Lynxes are rarely spotted in Michigan but they are very common in the Dinorwic Region of Ontario, close to where Lewis spotted these two.
Although it remains unclear exactly what the two lynxes were doing, as they are normally solitary animals, the interaction most likely had to do with claiming territory.

I had a puma scream behind me in dense brush about 30 feet away. They sound like a woman screaming her last breath.
Ran into something in the dark once that sounded like a baby chainsaw. Never figured out what it was. I wasn't trying to find out. It was in a little bush by my car and I went full throttle if you got within 10 feet of it. I left it alone. Really draw a blank as to what it even could've been.

It may well be about territory as stated in the description, but lynx fights are the most common during the mating season. They can hear each other's mating calls from far away and the males clash over the females.

The reason the guy is saying this is rare is because of how rare that particular species of Lynx is. The chances of two individuals meeting like this is stupid to begin with, let alone it being on a road that had someone with a camera on it at the time.
