Hey RCE, here's a tip, since steel is $450 per meter and a foundation costs $900 per meter, is actually cheaper to use a larger foundation than two pieces of steel because it doesn't stress and the steels arent at 90 degrees, so you use more than $900 per meter (Of height)
up to a point yes, but a higher foundation means the steel going more horizontal which makes it weaker

That is only guaranteed to work where the foundation is already present and you're just changing its height. Foundation has a very high initial/minimum cost though.

RCE: wants a level where you need to get boxes across a bridge.
Also RCE: Decides to not get the boxes across the bridge with cheese.
If I was a dev, I'd give flags to the boxes, make it a car with 0 acceleration on top of the trucks or something

Maybe the real boxes we got across that bridge were the friends we made along the way
Well to be fair he did try to cheese it but still bring the boxes over, but he couldn't make that work lol
The boxes were full of architects. Don't want those soiling the bridge or going where we're going.
For the non-cheesed solution: You could have made this a lot cheaper if you made the foundations taller. While foundations are expensive, they cost just as much as 2 pieces of steel. You're now trying to compensate the shortness of the foundation by using 3 (and a bit) pieces of steel, effectively 1.5x as expensive as just using a taller foundation

A foundation is actualy the same price as 2 steel pieces of equal lenght, so it might actualy be cheaper to build a much taller foundation to cut out the steel.
The main cost of the foundation is the base cost when you add it.

With two steels it's cheaper to have a lower foundation due to the steels being a bit diagonal. Most of the price is in placing it still, though

I dont own the game and was wondering if making the foundation taller wouldn't actually be the best solution especially since if the extra anchor is placed on the road level then it also stops a lot of lateral movement.
When I saw Paddy on the left of the G-Wagon, I though "oh, they even made it a right-hand-drive vehicle"... and then I realised that they just didn't feel that the level would be safe with RCE driving.

The parody of In The End got a genuine laugh out of me-- absolute god-tier memery. There's definitely a lot of luck involved in making it as a content creator in this day and age, but by golly, you've earned your success with all the effort you and the editors put in together to churning out fresh and funny videos day in and day out. All the little bits and recurring jokes, the songs, the strong thumbnail game, the consistently light and comfy tone... all parts of an excellent whole. And here's to hopefully more successful years to come!

I still remember when I subscribed. Matt was still at something like 3600 subscribers. OG subscribers ftw.
Just as a side note: The G-Wagen was originally developed to be a military off-roader. (The "G" in G-Wagen is for the German _Gelände_ meaning land or ground.) Somehow, someone at Mercedes had the luminous idea to create a civilian version to bring to market. The rest is history: over 400k units sold since its introduction 1979. Right hand drive versions exist too.
_Terrain_ is probably the better translation of _Gelände_ :) Works in both senses.
@@styx85 It's tricky to find the right translation that works specifically for this context. Terrain works too though it's quite broad/non-specific.
(But German isn't my native language, so I might have this wrong too.)

Placing foundations is by far the most expensive part but once you're committed to having them you should always consider increasing their height as it might be cheaper than an amalgamation of steel.

Devs like the ones from poly Bridge and timber borners that pay attention to their audience and the content creators who bring attention to their games are so cool, love when they add little Easter eggs
Same with hydroneer. I mean they made a mod for him, AND sassed him with it.

2 metal pieces is more expensive per metre than the foundation, so if possible you can increase foundation height instead of having multiple metal coming from it just for the extra height

Any time you're going to use foundations, the cost per meter is the same as running two steel beams the same distance, so you shouldn't feel pressured to make them short, if you're going to suffer the initial purchase cost anyway and attach two steel beams to their anchor point.

Foundation is actually quite cheap per length, the main cost is the initial starting price.

The devs are actually legends for not only putting you in the game, but doing so in a pink G wagon. To be fair, that's the least they could do after all the attention your content has brought to their game.

This is the funniest and coolest thing ever. So awesome that they actually put him and paddy in a G Wagon!
At 10:30, that steel break is because of the angle change in the arch. Since your arch from the right comes into the node at an angle, the stabilizers from the left push it down and to the right to keep it fixed. The left side ends up adding more downward force, so the vertical steel support underneath experiences more force than just the weight of the bridge and cars. A smooth arch is more important than vertical supports to avoid stabilizers adding unnecessary force.
The G Wagon is an amazing deep cut. Devs are true fans (which we knew, but still!)

The most accurate about this is the steering wheel being on the left side of the car where it should be!
Foundations cost 900/m steel costs 450/m. So if you use 2 steel you can just replace it with a foundation.

Honestly if my math is correct you should be able to get it cheaper by making the foundation taller. it essentially costs as much as 2 pieces of steel but is indestructible so for sections where you're using 3 lengths to connect to it you may as well make it taller. (Commented at 13:05 in case he figures it out later and I look like an idiot.)
