If required can the docked vessels supply energy to the grid? or is it only a one way connection to from shore to the the boats? I can see certain scenarios where it may be cost effective to sell power back to shore.
Doubt it, ship diesels are pretty filthy, even the generator stations of last resort like ground diesels and open cycle turbines are cleaner and more efficient.
