Yes, those Alan Class ones are great. Always surprised I don't see more of them in the markets and charity stores, they sold bucket loads of them and they must be piled high somewhere. I haven't got a huge number, I think this weekend doubled the set of Alan Class / B&W mags

Wonderful haul! You always get the most interesting stuff. Rome is the best! Good pick there!

Yes, it was great to find these. I love Rome, one of the best TV series ever and seeing that it was reasonably priced on blu-ray, a must have

I love the Alan Clas titles, a real selection box of all sorts of stories, some real little gems hidden away in them , the ones I have often have really great inter dimensional time travel stories which I adore

Yes, they did a lot of those time travel ones, such as going back in time and killing an ancestor or insect or something or changing an event that meant Columbus never got to the States etc or going to another dimension. Also lots of 'I am an alien' or I know who is an alien etc (generally turns out to be the person trying to find the alien). A lovely selection of tales in those mags

Those Crusader stories - The Fly etc, some of that was often drawn by Paul Reinman (who inked Kirby on Avengers and X-Men at times)

I loved those, they were some of my favourites to read at the seaside. I don't recall ever seeing them in my home town other in those Alan Class mags (and I always enjoyed reading those but that was mainly in the early 70s when they were 5p / 10p etc)

@@AndrewBuckleBookReviews I think most of us had a similar experience of coming across the AC books when travelling somewhere. I also seem to remember issues would sit for months in some newsagents, because of the crafty idea of his not to have cover dates.

Yes, they often ended up pretty sun drenched during the summer and well read before being bought. Forgotten about the lack of a cover date

If you're doing silent movie stuff soon Andrew, I hope to see a big mention for the legendary Harold Lloyd of course

Thank you for reminding me, must search out for my Harold Lloyd book, that would have been left out of the video. I haven't got a huge collection but there are many I would love to buy but they are way too expensive

@@AndrewBuckleBookReviews There's not that many books on Harold Lloyd sadly. I have an old second hand copy of one. A new biography of him really is overdue - as is a proper Hollywood movie of his career and life (in the vein of the excellent Laurel and Hardy one from a few years back)

You would think that he would have loads of books about him, I guess Charlie Chaplin probably has the most, though Laurel and Hardy probably have a few. I agree, a new biography would. be welcome
