Shoulda patented the one I made long ago with a motorcycle coil a condenser and a micro switch. Lol. Missed opportunity now someone has my damn near exact design 😒
I love the start up videos Sam.....................How about pulling one hard, I like to hear them pull. I once seen a guy make ice cream with one and it was cool to hear it pull harder and harder and harder until the ice cream finally froze and stopped her. Heck make some ice cream for us............just sayin!
Put a car alternator with a belt driveing it then hook up a 12 volt battery the alternator will keep the battery charged to run a inverter to power your house with electricity free power no light bills lol
I did not know these were made. I gonna order one, so I can put my original Wico aside so I can save it as an original working part. I love these types of videos BTW, the Maytag instructional videos are a hoot!
BUDDY LIGHT engines like this were usually powering generators or running oil wells. And a engine like this can run on damn near anything So if it were pumping oil It would also pump natural gas from the same well And they would pipe the gas or even the crude to the engine. And it could run indefinitely on its own power. The way a hit n miss works is very full efficient it doesnt fire continuously The governor operates a push rod and when i comes to speed the centrifugal force spins the weights outward and that activates a push rod that pushes a finger down and locks the connecting rod in place. By doing that it locks the compression valve open so the engine doesnt get any fuel or compression and is only running on inertia then as the flywheels slow down the governor weights close retracting the push rod allowing the compression valve to close and the connecting would have a camming surface that would trip a hammer on the magneto making it spark and repeating the process
Hi Sam, A great tutorial and review of the spark box. It seems to be a good product. Thanks for showing. Just a question... why do you have to keep the choke door closed when you run the engine? Just curious. Thanks again. Joe

Sounds like home. You don't look like my cousin but every word you say sounds just like him. Great.
I wish I knew half of what you've forgotten.
I do not like it now you need a damn battery how are you going to find one out on the farm? its hard enough to find gasoline
The sound of cicadas makes me homesick for sweet Tennessee.
Bye the way, whut is this hit n miss thang?
He said, "Always read the instructions, from page 1 to page all of them". Pencil that in!
I enjoy the old hit& miss motors. I live in Reeds port Oregon. Keep up the good work. Like your videos very much.

Nice and simple like. I like it that way. No sense in having to fight something to get it going.
,, started on one quarter of a turn of the flywheel,,,
yet another great video thank you
I love it !! its music to my ears . you are great at what u do . thanks so much for taking the time to make this clip . Ron
Have tried o use the sparkkbox on her.,, I'm wondering is this before or after sparkbox be'en used on her .Just wondering.
Wondering What She said about the new sparkbox..
,, first time,,
,,, she said,, that Sparkbox is a good thing,, the proof is a good running engine,,
Great video! Thanks- I would definitely have to replace the battery lead on it so the RED goes to positive and the BLACK goes to negative!!
Sweet home Alabama!
Through product review., like your video. Thanks.
Your review fully convinced me to get one of the spark box.

very good but you must protect from ice and rain
Those engine are the most reliable. They will be back in a near future.
I do not like the part that requires a battery can it not be made using magnets ?
How much was the sparkbox? Yep, I live in eastern Tennessee and love the cicadas!
Very informative video. Thank you!
got McCormick deering LB engine Need magneto for it can u help me out shorty in texas.
I did not know these were made. I gonna order one, so I can put my original Wico aside so I can save it as an original working part. I love these types of videos BTW, the Maytag instructional videos are a hoot!
,,, a, thank you now,, this thing really works,,,, thanks,,
I always wanted to see one of those run
Can you tell me why you would take off a working magneto to out this system on?
looking for hit and miss engine to buy let me no shorty in texas.
I want one! That is one cool engine , and pump, thanks for showing it.
That sure does run nice. We gotta find me one for upper middle Tennessee.
When these engines were in service how long did they run on a regular basis?
BUDDY LIGHT engines like this were usually powering generators or running oil wells.
And a engine like this can run on damn near anything
So if it were pumping oil
It would also pump natural gas from the same well
And they would pipe the gas or even the crude to the engine.

Nice machine shopdog. ... very nice
,, thank you,,
ive got 8 small engines and none of them run
,,, could be out of gas,,,
Sweet! :o)
O,,,
