    Now I wonder what happens when you put coffee beans through the chocolate making process?

    In Jamaica we call it chocolate tea, it’s nice boiled with some added spice like nutmeg, a bay leaf and condensed milk

    Heads up. Chocolate beans contain more fat so while grinding coffee produces a powder, grinding chocolate beans produces a paste. We gunked up our coffee grinder attempting this and had to abandon ship 😂 BUT! You can brew the chocolate bean outer shells as a delicious tea so all was not lost.

      You could buy de-oiled (and dutch processed) cocao powder to try this without the hassle. Most people won't ferment and roast their own coffee either.

      Alternative: Use a mortar and pestle or molcajete to grind it into a paste.
      Then flatten, dry again, gently crush into powder, then brew.

      This would be way better in a French press

    It's actually pretty close to the ancient Aztec drink. One of their kings supposedly drank 80 cups of this stuff PER DAY.

    I like how half of this video is your own stock footage from when you made a chocolate bar from scratch.

    How about pulling that as a shot with an espresso machine? Could be a disaster but if you could figure out how to do it 😮‍💨 game changer

    Ok. But where do I get my own coco beans??

    • @shawneeluciani1385
      @shawneeluciani1385 Год назад +2

      Whole pod? Not sure. But beans that have already undergone fermentation can be easily order online. Then you just roast them yourself. It's a ton of fun. Highly recommend ordering a few from different countries so you have flavors to compare 😋 incredible how different chocolate from different regions tastes.
