Sequim! The lavender festival is July is my favorite! The street artist festival is amazing. Not to mention all the flavor combos with lavender ice cream to be had! Fun video.
Forget Google. Duck Duck Go is the only way to go these days. Scan Da Navy In...a guffawable moment for sure🤣🤣 Excellent video guys. They're always great.😎👍⚓🦘🐾
I'll guess Sequim as they get more sun being "blocked"and by the mountains and the landmark is Dungeness Spit which is continually growing from the run off of the river. 🤔
Oh my land. That bridge at 12:48? Funnier than kraut. True story... Sailing under the stars, running lights on, a dozen passengers on board. The Captain was up to something. That prankster, aka jerk, lol. He convinced the other passengers to step out of the boat lines, feet on the port rails, hang onto the lanyards, guy wires from the mast, etc., bc: We need to tip the yacht Port side to miss the bridge. It was a 60' mast. We were at high tide. Still gives me a giggle. That jerk, 🤣 I was in the gally w his first mate, his wife, my best friend.
The cool thing about Sequim is the rugged mountains are so close to the deep- green saltwater. Looking back at the mountains from Dungeness Lighthouse is a sight to behold.

Nothing like the Port Townsend Jazz Festival for the weekend. Sail in, drop the fore and aft hooks. Take the dingy in, share a cab and spend hours walking from place to place to listen to amazing jazz groups. Concerts in the Ft. Warden St. Park. Bands set up in the quonset hut, lunch on a blanket, the PT Marina, the difference between PT and PA... Yum. Used to SCUBA dive off the Old Union Wharf in PT. Huge tide pulls (not pools). Release the knife from the inside of your calf, dig into the sand and hang on if you didn't run the Tide Charts to the minute, lol. In a dry suit.
thanks guys for another fun adventure. would recommend the BUGASSUALT for those pesky creatures. shoots table salt and gives you a pretty good standoff range. godspeed. JDR

Thinking of selling my house and buying it soon, since the real estate market is crazy right now. I've dreamed of living on my own boat since I was a kid. You guys encourage me. Thanks

Not sure why I watched this video, normally I watch sailing ones instead, but since you're in Puget Sound, that's probably what caught my attention. If I had to guess, I would guess that you were probably on your way to Sequim Bay, Discovery Bay, or Dungeness Bay, with great Dungeness crabs!
How is the dehumidifier doing? Oh, and she is cute. And you’re a good engineer. And wish that number on front of your ship was 63. Would fit you both well.
Hey Shawn and Elizabeth! Enjoy your videos. Wondering about the engine noise inherent in many trawlers and other boat designs with inboard, generally straight shaft, propulsion. Are have you ever researched ways to reduce the noise. Seems like sound insulation and engine dampening would be obvious considerations. Perhap noise canceling technology. Any other ideas? Cheers!

New sub here! During the Q&A you said "when you were required to get your captains license." I didn't think you needed a captains license for a boat that size that is privately run. ???
@@youtubeisstoopid Oh. Thats a boating safety course. That is required here in Ct. too. A captains license is a very involved course given by the coast guard and you need to have a certain amount of hours on the open ocean. Like working on a big ship as a deckhand etc. It can take a long time. It is required if you want to run your boat commercially. Like having paying customers on your boat for charters etc.
@@jerrycoon3369 researching I see that you are correct. But, there is only a multiple choice exam, basically a year of verifiable operating time/sea time, with 90 days of that being in the past 3 years, physical exam, drug test, CPR and first aid. I am wondering if my 3 years of Sea time in the Navy will suffice, plus a recent 90 days. If so, I may go for it myself. I believe insurance is much less expensive when an owner has a captain's license.
You should invest in one of those portable propane-fired pizza ovens like an Ooni or something similar if you want to broil stuff and don't want to wait almost an hour for the oven. Plus.. pizza in 90 seconds!
@@OMGWTFLOLSMH The oven is propane-fired on their yacht. Also, the 12" Ooni oven is smaller than an electric skillet for comparison's sake, and the legs can be removed to store it in an even smaller space.
