Have lived in 4 countries including korea, in korea the food at the grocery stores are a rip-off especially at lotte, and e-mart is pretty bad too, but food at restaurants is cheap.
This was very interesting to watch. I’m always fascinated to see what daily life is like in Korea. This store reminds me a lot of Costco, too. Thanks Nathan!
wow, such a big supermarket, that I have to get lost in it. that was really interesting to shop with you and chat with the others.🤗 So we haven't had a walk like this before, shooping walk😄👍🛒🛒
Thanks for taking us shopping, just that when you used the fast camera I got a little dizzy, I'm sorry I had to tell you. You're great, take us shopping more often. Mexican hugs for you and your wife.🤗🤗🤗🤗
Romanian here: our average salaries after taxes are about 500 EUR. In Seoul, they are 2500 EUR on average. I think you can figure the prices in Korea are higher than here 💲
Re: the air fryer I have one. It's a little inconvenient to make a large meal just because you have to give it space in the basket to cook, but if you're cooking for one or two people it does really well. I should use it more often, but I have a coworker who won one in a raffle and uses it for basically every meal. In terms of getting the fried flavor without the grease from oil frying, it's really does do that. I've done everything from frozen fries to boneless chicken breast and they always come out as desired. It can take a little bit of experimentation to get the cooking times down right though. I'd suggest buying a cheaper one to see if it's something you'd use and upgrade to a larger one if you'd like. I've also never used the baking pans that came with the one I bought, but I've heard it does great on that front as well.
Cool! This was good idea. I enjoyed shopping with you😉 I have heard that it’s more expensive to grocery shop there in SK. But to me It looks like items are higher in price where I shop. Maybe it’s just because I live in Oklahoma, USA where prices are high (Compared to Texas where I lived previously). I spend around $800 to $1000 a month for groceries for three adults and one toddler. It’s ridiculous! But I cook from scratch almost every meal and enjoy baking. Looking forward to our next walk!! Stay well. I heard it’s already turning cold there🥶
Hi. Here in Venezuela we have a super complex situation. We was the richest country in Latin America till 1998- Now, we have 2.550 % (two thousand and more) as Hyperinflation index this year, and intense scarcity of products. The last year, prices has become dollarized because we have also a deep lack of local money . Our economy has lost more than 25% of the GDP this year, and poverty is more than 90% de last 5 years because of the non democratic politic system. More than 5 million people have migrated in poverty to other countries the last 2 years (we had 28 million people as population). But we are figthing because we have to do it. That's why I admire South Korea and koreans and their economic and social succes and modernization.
Thank you for inviting us to do the grocery shopping. Of course you are going to cook,,. je, je, je In my country the same amount of milk costs US $ 5.70 ....... Many of the items cost more or less the same, but the store is really big.
Everything in korea is big huge wide clean safe and beautiful I love it and I love your videos they are like therapy to me thank you for your hard work seoul walker
1:31 Kamill hand creme sells in a set !! 6:15 the big box of Zespri Kiwi !! 25:08 that is the dumpling I love !! 37:28 Can't believe there is sugar free PLUS size Ricola !!
omg Nathan you read my mind.. i was hoping for a supermarket walk from you! more supermarket walks please! maybe different supermarkets if it's not too inconvenient to film. I love korean supermarkets!
Prices are a bit reasonable, but have gone up, since this pandemic. So I am using a stretcher to stretch the £, buying from 4 different shops to last us as a family for a month!.
I shop for example in 3 different shops. But buy toilet paper, kitchen towels, toothpaste, and garlic toilet cleaner from Costco, as it's big packaging and bulk buying.
I always loved the supermarkets in Korea even though with some of the products I didn’t know exactly what they were. 😅 I still very much enjoyed shopping in them and hopefully will be able to do so next year again. 🥰
I love this video! After watching a lot of Kdramas and celebs (BTS in particular), it's always a dream for me to stroll around SK or go grocery shopping.. I want to go there the soonest, I've already made a list on where to go. This one's added to my list. Btw, does this require membership to go in & shop? Are the prices here cheaper as compared to regular groceries there? Also, since you mentioned about mangoes.. Try tasting Philippine mangoes. I'm not being biased but they say our variety are the best. Haven't tasted the kind in Thailand or Vietnam though. I only tasted the variety in SG (not sure if it's from Thailand coz we ate it together w/ the sticky rice and coco milk)and the variety in the middle east & I must say that our mangoes here are way better. A lot of Koreans do love the mangoes here and even buy a lot of dried mangoes. Try visiting here soon. Thanks for the videos. Virtual tour for now.
Wow very big shopping place. Just like Tesco. Lovely. Thanks for the market tour vlog. Love it. An new friend here watching from London. Let’s keep connected and see you around.👍❤️
Hi Seoul Walker - Fruit and vegetables seem far cheaper in the UK than in Seoul - the price for the kiwis was far too expensive! We would pay about £2.00/£2.50 (3.7K krw) for that amount, a quarter of your price. I love persimmons, our local supermarket sells larger ones individually for approx. 50p (744 krw). The salmon would be a bit cheaper here but not by a great deal. I think perhaps the prices are different in the capital? Prices are a lot more expensive in London than in a town in central England. The next time you're in Busan, take us shopping there and do a comparison! :D Thank you for all your videos, I enjoy them very much!
Mr. Seoul Walker I hope you know how much I appreciate your videos. This video was something a little different and completely appreciated. Thank you so much for giving us these small pieces of joy everyday. I 💜 you!!
Woah! There are escalators for carts? I've never seen a grocery store with multiple floors before. Just little things like that amazes me and makes me wish to visit Korea someday 🤗
Recently i ordered 참이슬 Soju fresh (23:57) on amazon cause i was curious and wanted to try it. I really like it, especially cold after a meal. Unfortunately it gets pretty expensiv to order it every time and deliver it to germany :D for 5 bottles i usually pay around 22euro
Ah.... thank you so much for this! I haven’t been to the supermarket in months😬 i miss walking around till my feet hurt, looking closely at new products aisle & kitchenware area, tracing my fingers along the fabric at the clothing section, watching the fishtank with my sister😅 this surely makes me feel better ^^
I've been to this E-mart Traders store in Ilsan. It's part of a much larger "e-mart town" store which is huge. You can walk around for hours. Electro mart is great to look around as well.
Hi Nathan! Thank you for the video. It was fun shopping with you! Many American brands in that store. I want to visit! Here are some prices from California, USA: Eggs; 18 for about $6 Salmon lb for about $9. Beef about $2 to 10 lb depending on the cut. Milk price $3.50/gal Tofu, about the same Bibigo foods are really good (saw and tasted them at KCon one year and my family is hooked!), but hard to find in California. We do get those dumplings often and they are really yummy. We have a little container of Gochujang paste..it is really HOT!
How is the price compared to where you live?
Brazil: Here fruits and vegetables are cheap
Rice is expensive and beef is very expensive.
Pork and chicken are easier
Im pretty sure it's waaaay cheaper than in my country....
@@crisl5801 Lovely
Perú : Here Fruits and vegetables !!!!!!!!
Here avocado and quinoa are expensive :c

Spain is cheap tho
Hi Nathan, this is a splendid idea to do a grocery store walk.

Brazil is going through the same situation. My dream that purchasing power here would be greater, but I hope that it can happen one day ...

Muito legal conhecer um supermercado de Seul, gostei mesmo👋👋👋👋
( Very cool to visit a supermarket in Seoul, I really liked it👋👋👋👋).
Woah! There are escalators for carts? I've never seen a grocery store with multiple floors before. Just little things like that amazes me and makes me wish to visit Korea someday 🤗
Yes, and the cart automatically locks so it doesn't roll backwards. Its the coolest ever.
Here in Germany some Supermarkets have escalators too. I think its because we dont have that space like most places in the USA have ...
It's quite common. Such escalators with locking mechanism are there is several stores in India as well.
the supermarket looks soooo organized and clean and beautiful what is name of this supermarket?

Hi Nathan! Thank you for the video. It was fun shopping with you! Many American brands in that store. I want to visit!
Here are some prices from California, USA:
Eggs; 18 for about $6
Salmon lb for about $9.
Beef about $2 to 10 lb depending on the cut.
Milk price $3.50/gal
Tofu, about the same
Bibigo foods are really good (saw and tasted them at KCon one year and my family is hooked!), but hard to find in California. We do get those dumplings often and they are really yummy.
We have a little container of Gochujang paste..it is really HOT!
I'm too excited for this. LOL Do they have the jalapeno artichoke dip there? If they do- buy it!
