My tilt-head was scraping too much so I turned the screw to the right to bring it up a bit. Moved the dime just like your illustration. Left brings the beater closer to the bowl. So easy with a wide screwdriver. Thank you!
Thank you, I am so glad to see this! I was pretty upset when, after my first usage, I found dry mix at the bottom of what I though was finished dough and batter. :)
This happened to me too! And my rum cake turned out dense and not as good as how I’ve usually made it with the handheld mixer. Totally made me lose confidence in the stand mixer. I am going to have to try out this fix and see if adjusting the height will fix this problem
After the mixer fell off the counter I was terrified we were going to have to replace a major appliance and EVEN WORSE, not get to make Brioche hamburger buns! However, this fixed our problem perfectly, thank you so much!
What if the head is too low so it’s scratching the bowl? The screw in the neck is fully tight, screw pin is in, and the screw underneath when the mixer is laying on its side and you can reach up inside mixer...that one is tight too. Suggestions?
i lost that screw and now i can't find it in the iron because it is no ordinary screw is there a catalog number somewhere so i can order it from amazon?
Yes. If the beater blade goes to the bottom then your dough hook should be good also. You may still get a small touch of flour left in the bottom but I never worry about that. Thanks for stopping by. Lisa
The only issue I see with this video is that the head will now wobble since it is loose and when doing dough...TRUST me you won't like it! The alternative is adjusting that screw for each mixing requirement (Whether it be for dough or a meringue).
@@LisasWorld100 I just found out what the problem was (for me anyway). The locking lever, has a linkage going to the actual locking mechanism (kinda looks like a crescent moon with a rod attachment). Well anyway that linkage was bent, and would not allow the "Lock" to lock properly. I want to apologize for my comment, since this is a fix and I will inform you once I get all the parts necessary. BTW, Happy New Year
Very helpful! Nicely shown specifically how to set the height right. Thank you!
Just found you. Knoxville TN here. I needed this video. Thank you.
OMG!!!!
YOU ARE A LIFE SAVER!!!
THANK YOU LISA😊
You saved my life and I followed the instruction to make it higher to avoid the beater touching the edge of bowl. Great thanks!
Glad this helped. Thanks for the support and comment.
Great video! Thanks, Lisa! You went right to business!
Omg thank you! I’ve struggled with this and mine was such a super huge gap
Thanks, this was very helpful. Had to turn the screw nearly two turns on my brand new one.
What a great tip!
+Linda's Pantry Thank you. It took me a long time to even figure out I could adjust the blade. :(

Right (clockwise) lowers the attachment. Left (counter clockwise) raises the attachment.
I have been struggling with my whisk hight and making Italian meringue, thank you for this video!
You're very welcome. Thanks for stopping by.
@@LisasWorld100 I had a whisk wants that was so faulty that I have to unscrew the screw out so far that it would prevent the mixer head from locking
Great simple video that helped me, my beater was running on the bowl so I turned the screw the opposite way. But it's fixed now!
Thanks for this great informative and to the point explanation. Great video.

i lost that screw and now i can't find it in the iron because it is no ordinary screw
is there a catalog number somewhere so i can order it from amazon?
Thanks so much
Thank you Lisa for your nice video !
merci ! :-)
Does the same technique work for dough hook?

I struggle with my dough hook, it bumps on the bottom every time I try to use it : (
no matter what i do the screw won't move and i'm just stripping it!!! do I just return the machine? because its useless at this point
What about the hook attachment is it supposed to move the dime
Just tried my hook, it will never reach bottom like the wish.
So I'm going with the adjustment from the wisk
Thank you!
Many thanks!!!!
I thought the dime test is only to be done with the flat beater?
Thank you i will be adjusting mine tomorrow ps I have the same color artisan red love mine
+Tammy Toure Hope this helps. It will make mixing much easier.
Thank you!-
How do you get started using a kitchen aid
How about show us the adjustment
Thank you it did
Hi great tip
+Kathleen Anderson Thanks. Glad it helped.
The problem isn't the adjustment to lower the peddles its the freaking motor head shaking and motor sounding like its going to die on first speed.
thetruth mine has never done that.
You didn't show how

Delekham I’ve Never had that problem and I used mine at least 5 times a week for 3 years. Never a problem!
@@LisasWorld100 Well then, my mixer must be different, cause mine wobbles if I turn it in over 1/8 of a turn. BTW Merry Christmas

But you are not really showing hot to do it.
Babble babble. ... And there is no "H" on the ending of the word height.
