Yes sir. Right around 2 years. Mine just did the same thing. I was going to pick up the rebuild kit this week, but I think I need to take another look at the end of the rotor. Thanks for the video.
Gool rc brushless bearings started making noise after one of many wet and dirty bash sessions. Caught it before motor was damaged. Lasted a year of heavy use.
The bearings went in our Traxxas motor at the bottom the can leaving the outer bearing casing stuck in there, we could not get it out. Eventually we drilled through the bottom end of the can and pushed out the bearing case, my plan now is to use two sets of bearings to hold in the other. I’ll have to do a video of it, it might be interesting to see what happens. It will be over on our rc channel called RC Havoc UK.
I've had some success repairing the rotor windings by removing and wrapping the rotor with Kevlar string with a fine coat if epoxy on string. Then replace those sloppy bearings. Its not 100% perfect, but if you can use a balancer of somekind might be pretty damn close . Trial and error!
Literally same thing happened to me on my THIRD RUN with my brand new e revo 2.0…. 2200kv motor shot just like that. $110 out the window. Gonna hear it down bc when I went to look at it after run it was extremely hot and smelled horrible.
@@rcaction7428 im not saying they all brake but yes if no maintenance is done, it will brake fast, spacially if it gets water. You must seal the rear motor at first. The rear bearing is expose and take a lots off dust and when i will fail, it will get desalign and the magnet will rubb against the can and its over. Since I put a small piece of tape on the motor to seal the bearing, and maintenace everry few months, no problem at all since then.
Same here. XRT and X-Maxx motors are so fragile, that you can't even make this bearings replacement on time. Now I have 3rd motor (since January 2024) and yesterday hybrid ceramic bearings arrived - will replace stock ones and see if it helps this ridiculously short motor life.
Happened to my motor just recently, lost a couple of screws holding the rear cap in place and it must have misaligned the rotor, rotor looks just like yours. I did try to epoxy the magnets in place which seem to work to a certain rpm but its basically the a smoke machine now 😂
@@rcaction7428 yes could be the epoxy smoking but not trusting it one bit as i fear it might burst into flames. Best i get a new motor and learn from my mistakes 💸💸
My Arrma 3s bearing exploded in motor. The armature and inside can in packed with dirt. Should I spray contact cleaner inside and on armature to clean it? Is that safe? I’ve read I should block unused motor holes etc to stop dirt.
I would say like under 30hrs got it at the end of the last summer i bet iver only took it out 10 or 15 times if that, but its not as bad as your just a bit frayed the front bearing went just like yours trying my hardest to get the bearing sleeve out to no avail its like 150 in canada for a new motor ffs
Its kevlar thread. And a heat resistant epoxy. I'm actually fixing mine. Once I get the stuff. My bearing went like his but it's not as bad my thread is frayed and dirty tho in the front. Going to re wrap the front and run it till she's done

One year I replaced with ceramic bearing last 3 year's. It depends on how and where we drive . I never drive on wet conditions snow mud ect.

Yea that’s pretty good, they all wear out, better off changing them before they go bad,

Sounds interesting, I would think it would work, great idea too! Those bearings really get stuck in there!!

Thumbs up for the cat

It should be under warranty.

Not if it overheated due to over-gearing it though....
Just broke mine. overheating the motor and it's done for
Just happened today with my erevo 2 motor , after a few full throttle straights the motor kinda stuck just like yours lasted 4 years.
I have 3 udr and im killing mine only after 2 or months with out maintenance.
...damn cats
That is crazy! I just got my udr so I’ll have to how long it will last. Does the bearing go bad or what happens?

@@faststongesdrc7075 that’s a great idea sealing it, I wonder if hot glue or silicone would work also?
@@rcaction7428 hot glue will jam the bearing and grease or any lube will atract dust and its gona be just worst.
Had this happen to my XRT after 2 months.

Yeah using epoxy is a great idea but I bet you that’s the part that smoking too I should try Epoxy

My bearing went, But fortunately the rotor is ok
Can the bearing be replaced with ceramic bearing
Traxxas wants you to buy a new motor. No maintenance. lol
That’s so true!
I think that might be Teflon coating

2yrs. Arrma typhon 3s
My xmaxx exact thing, 5-10 runs tho 😠
wow, thats horrible!! was it really hot out? or something extreme ?
@@goneviral6037 nope, middle of fall, replaced it and now I’m replacing bearings every year 🤣🤣
crazy, did it get really hot?
@@rcaction7428 it did because I drove it back to the truck after which is probably where it killed the rotor
I think it is the little balls from the bearing that cut the Kevlar wrap
Mines not that bad
Ty 4 your vid
Ty 4 your vid now how do u get the rear bearing out the bearings gone with the the piece up against the wall still in there
