Dropshot... use pinch on split shot. Cheap and comes off easily if snagged. You never lose the hook or dropper line. Pinch on a new weight and your back in the water. Use a LONG dropper line, then pinch the weight on at whatever depth you like. You can adjust your weight depth in seconds. The extra line just drags along the bottom. It never snags. Here in Canada, our depths keep changing.... lotsa weight depth adjusting.
Great video presentation and explanation on when and where to fish both of them. I've been looking for a long time for this. Great job Ike I always enjoy watching your videos.
Awesome Video Mike. This is why you have been one of my favorites forever...you always keep it real. This is exactly why you relate to all anglers out there more than others. Thank you for always being real.
Appreciate the vid, Ike. I have a tourney on Saturday and the D-shot will be one of my "go-to" techniques. For the future, there are sooooo many vidz out there on lures to use and how to use them. Would you consider doing more videos on how to actually FIND fish? Especially, DEEP summer, 85-90 water temp, Blue-bird skies, no wind....I think this will help many. Thanks Brother!
@@mikeiaconellifishing can you post them before 6am tomorrow :) ...that's when we BLAST OFF! bwahaahahaha - thanks again, Mike. Really appreciate all you do for us in providing info that really helps. Quick question, anything come to mind for how to catch them when the sun starts to get high and the morning bite fades. I nailed a 4lb smallie on a D-shot yesterday morning but after that it was all squirts.
Thank you for a most informative presentation, as always. I didn’t understand the practical use of the shaky head. I’m certain that your techniques you presented will work even in our horrible water and heat conditions in Arizona.
Hi Kat like to thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to also do some instructional videos a lot of these RUclips fishermen don't take the time to do instructional videos there more about getting views back catching big fish and doing crazy antics.
Love the dropshot in early spring and fall😍, summertime its useless (for perch) 😒 Also love these videos, even tho we don't have bass in Sweden alot of the bass techniques is perfect to apply and modify for our predators ✌ Keep up the good work and stay scandinavian with your gear 😉
Good info Mike! What do you think of the VMC spinshot dropshot hook? Ever since I started dropshot fishing, this is the only hook I have used. U have any pros and cons you could elaborate on.
@@azbasshead lmao glad you saw the humor in it too!! But sir I'm in the 2nd grade, so I'm smarter than you!! It's called a sense of humor. Just smile and enjoy your day!! Never grow old, tired and boring... Also thanks for giving me sometime out of your day. Giving me a reply!! Much appreciated!!! Tight lines
...■■■ Please use a darker marker, a second camera to see some close ups would be appropriate and perhaps a higher camera angle so your head is not clipped off. I can see some dude walking behind the camera in the reflection of the fish tank...perhaps he can hold the camera and solve most of your camera issues. Just some suggestions. Thanks. (Content always on point however)
Man I love my VMC spin shot hooks. Really cuts down on the line twist and so easy to change my leader out when needed.

Very good explanation of both presentations. I do like those VMC weedless heads for shakey head fishing.
Thanks 👍
Just gotta say I've been digging your content! Thanks mike. Looking forward to yet another great video.
Awesome! Thank you! Appreciate that!
Dude!!! I just want to say think you for your countless helpful videos. They are greatly appreciated! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

That's really a great breakdown.
Great videos Mike

I've used both at the same time. Instead of drop shot weight I tie on a shaky head at the end of my leader. Fish bit the drop shot.
Ike out here with the whiteboard like a football coach laying out the gameplan
Thanks for your dedication to make fishing better 👍🏻🎣
Thanks Mike, the tips are greatly appreciated!
Happy to help!

Hey mike do you use a short drop line in early spring when water is cold an starting to warm slowly? 👍
Awesome video. Trying to get into fishing both of those to techniques. This really helps
Thanks Ike.....as I said when I met you, thank you for the information and making fishing fun!

That's so cool Mike has fans as far as Scandinavia.
What hooks vmc hooks you using fro drop shot... can’t find them
This was great coaching video. I learned a ton and can't wait to try this out. How do you tie your hook & liter line on?
Great video, Mike!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Helpful. Thanks.
You're welcome!
Thank you. Good information

So was this a commercial for VMC or fishing?
He's telling you what he uses. Of course he uses tackle from his sponsors. I have no ties to VMC whatsoever, but I can say they make top notch tackle.
In my opinion the best arsenal to use....
Interesting video Mike.
Thanks for the great informative video
Ike you got any tips for Merrill Creek 😂
Good info
Lol " head down tail up, shaking my rod tip"!!!

Nice video bud
Handlebar steals the show
Why not use a 1/8oz Tube Jig as the weight? Two different types of presentations
Come on Ike, use a black marker next time but still a great video!
Dude SHAVE!! You look like a Turkish flying carpet dealer.......:)
Shit, I do the shakyhead along with a dropshot hook. Two zones at once.
Thats interesting...have to try that out.
