This was such a well written character choice to have Yami wait for Asta to sweat it out. All of Yami’s previous picks(besides magna) had been extremely powerful weirdos with no motivation. He probably saw in Asta someone who could actually push his squad
well if u are talking about when he chose them it might be right but you bet he is one of the luckiest captain since he got magna cause magna went toe to toe with lucifer possessed dante
@@SumitPal-xj1tgthat would be because of zora if he didnt teach magna that spell dante would of easily killed him so it’s good he has zora besides magna
They later Retconned it to Fanzell being the first person to acknowledge Asta other than Yuno and before Yami. Which made me really surprised since if he is one of the first persons you'd think he'd have more screentime. But whatever
I never get why none of the captains want him. I get the royals being dicks, but the mantis guy definitely seems like he would have picked him. He is a commoner and he loves proving that commoners can get stronger, ASTA being a close combat specialist as well would seem like a perfect fit for him. But I am glad yami was smart enough to understand the true potential here.
What you say is true but Jack the Ripper (mantis guy) was raised in the country where magic is the second most important thing next to status. As Yami said no one wanted to mess with someone who didn’t have magic and because it was an unknown power, Capt Jack probably couldn’t help but be unintentionally prejudice towards Asta unlike Yami who himself was an outsider and magicless until he spent time in the Clover Kingdom. Of course this just theory based on speculation on the series setting and lore.
@@hoangquanle3310 Yep, he was, is and always will be comedic relief, BUT even he realises that he could become stronger if he trained, Asta changes people THAT much
@@kaori1621 maybe not contex sorry but like the fullness. Like in Inuyasha he says pussywalking 😂 in the dub but in sub he says walking on eye shells. 😓 you see like you don’t get the fullness of the convo. lol my bad hope you understand.

Yuno look so proud when Asta knocked down Sekke 😂
Our boy has come a long way
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Yami is the first person other than Yuno to actually say Asta has a chance at becoming the Wizard King.

great scene

Or Fuegoleon
Just imagine if asta didn't become a magic knight here 😂
Shit is about to go down for clover kingdom 😂
“Eh?” [immediate disaster]
Sekke had so much wasted potential.
I think he’s intended to be comic relief, so not really. 😅😅

Idc what anyone say dub is so much better! You really get the full context!
You get the full context in sub too, what are you saying?

@ idk.. I just feel you get a way better context in dub. With dub they tend to be politically correct.
And I hate that.
