  • TW 200 - Best Beginner Motorcycle
Most reliable motorcycle, and a very versatile dual sport, the TW 200 has been around since the 1980's, and is still iconic today.

I bought One Brand New in 1991 when I got back from the Gulf War, and February of 1992 I rode it from Tucson Arizona to Heber Springs Arkansas, nearly Froze to Death doing it but I got I got it Home

@@MotoGiantI get way more people acting envious and asking questions when I’m on my small bikes way more than I do when riding the bigger ones. And I do rub it in, and let them know just how much fun I’m having... Because it’s true. And the people that come in here to make childish comments they’re the only ones I’ve ever heard negative comments from. I’m assuming they are dudes with nothing but big bikes, and over inflated egos...

@@airadaimagery692 Very easy to tell the difference between the people that are riding for themselves, and those riding for other people: the way they talk, they way they act, and the machines they choose. If I see 10 people in a parking lot on motos, I will almost always avoid the sheeple, all dressed alike, riding the same bikes, and move towards the folks doing something different - 90% of the small bore guys are the most interesting guys on the lot.

I took the motorcycle safety class with my daughter last year. The class used the TW. It is a cool bike. If you had no schedule and took back or off road would be good.

I love the TW. I don't want to be That Guy who always wants a larger engine, but I do think it'd be cool if Yamaha expanded the line by adding an updated TW400, keeping the low end tractor factor but adding an overdrive 6th gear, not so much for highways, but for major secondary roads where traffic typically flows at 60 MPH. Maybe a few modern amenities such as a simple LCD, disc brakes front and rear and a large rear rack, a large fuel tank to make it easier to go places (or just have the convenience of fueling it monthly for ranch patrol), but keep it light and simple. Definitely keep those big funky tires that plow through mud and mostly float over sand.
