Should’ve done pvc the entire way down. That black tubing will collapse when you drive over it also while the 4” pipe is probably big enough to handle the water coming in it will clog up with sticks and algae so probably would’ve been better to go bigger on that.

Any clogging happen? Did you put a filter cap on the end?

No clogging. We did end up changing this overflow system into a waterfall. Its actually one of our youtube shorts.

I would be interested in learning if there was any leakage around that neck. The compaction looked a bit weak. Otherwise good video like the last one. (any frogs yet)

No leaking coming from anywhere yet. Its gone through can entire winter and froze over. So it is holding up just like we planned. And yes, only weeks after it was completed we counted almost 50 frogs!

Why not an apron around pipe to prevent seaping around pipe and eventual burm failure??

We only build the dike out of soils that are ideal for holding water. In this case it was clay. Once compacted clay holds water extremely well. Some people even line there pond with clay so it holds water. Compact the clay around the pipe as much as possible and it will turn solid and never leak.

@@oll9693 yes. Clay is ideal for holding water. Especially blue or brown clay
