I had the same issue on an 208 few years ago and the solution was a module reset using the diagnostic tool. I used the launch x431 pro at the time. After crash data delete the airbag light was on with no faults.
Hi Luis still trying to resolve a problem with my Mercedes Airbag module, 6months on. How do I contact you to get you to look at it PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. THANK YOU.
Yes... but, the number of airbags installed on the donor car would have to be the same, along with all the options... If needed programming, which I am not sure on this one, would be something else that would require doing... 👍👍👍
for some manufacteurers the modules can be reseted 5 times, like Renault, using the original Renault diagnostic tool - Clip, but the car must have all the ECMs from origin, so you cant put a used part and try to program it through original diagnostic tool . I´m not sure all the contructors make this move possible. Of course, this action will be registered at the car´s database.
It is usually in the center of the car. One to be protected by "distance " in case of an impact, and second due to some od the modules having built in sensors... so the center of the car is the best place for accurate readings... 👍👍👍
Hi do you have contact details? where are you based?, i need to have my car looked at vw passat cayc 2014, with fault code p256300 and p2099, car smoke tested with no vacuum leaks found, vanes on the VNT turbo checked and moving freely with no play, turbo checked on the cold side fins are moving freely with no play, actuator voltage range checked and vacuum tested and moved freely with no leaks voltage ranges from 0.49v to 3.39v with vacuum pump checked. now the problem VCDS test - turbo actuator voltage at idle hovers around 1.9 to 2.2v, i believe it should be 3.39v. the vacuum to the actuator hovers around 9-10 inches of mercury, i believe it should be around 18-20 inches of mercury to fully open vanes and move the voltage to 3.39v. so it looks like i am not receiving enough vacuum to the turbo actuator. checked vacuum before the N75 and after the N75 solenoid and both read the same 9-10 inches of mercury. checked vacuum directly at the vacuum pump, it is around 29 inches for mercury which i believe to be correct. another test I've done is placing a vacuum pump at the turbo actuator and pinch the hose at the EGR vacuum solenoid stopping the vacuum to the solenoid and the vacuum at the turbo goes to the correct value of around 18-20 inches of mercury and to the right voltage. the car has a had a new borgwarner Egr fitted in july 2024 from VW I'm totally lost with what else to check. need help thank you
just to add turbo cuts out in high gear on a steep incline between 1600 and 2000 rpm Problem arises on cold start, after warming the cars drives without problems on normal driving.
Good morning Luis, another repair by an old school skilled tech that repairs rather than replace the module
😊
Thanks!

👋
👍👍👍
Great information, was a pleasure to watch. Thank you.
😊
👍👍👍
Luis you need a copy of the cartool v3.6 software as it will clear this particular airbag module. Great work mate.
😊
👍👍👍
cartool 1.3 is the best srs crash removed software i used lot of time in PSA cars
😊
👍👍👍
Perfect job 👍
Thanks!
👍👍👍
Hi mate, looks like the softwire you using is a proper tool. Can share about were you both it from. Link or something.
Thabks

Good morning Luis odd a dodgy reset program
😊
Works for some, not for others...😋

hi bro, in PSA group when u remove crash u must unlock airbag ecu via diagnostic . launch or autel can do it. cheeeers
Lucky you
hi luis can replacing the air bag module clear the air bag light thanks

Hi .please .i need your help in repairing my fm on my radio
Can you post the file in description or comments??
I was wondering, why do manufactures not make the modules crashdata resettable by scantool?
💰 I guess...
I believe they do have other reasons, that can be open to debate...😊

Why did they bury the airbag module deep into the centre console you'd think it'd be somewhere easy to get to
It is usually in the center of the car.
One to be protected by "distance " in case of an impact, and second due to some od the modules having built in sensors... so the center of the car is the best place for accurate readings...

@@LMAutoRepairsThank you Lewis that all makes sense now

Hi
do you have contact details? where are you based?, i need to have my car looked at vw passat cayc 2014, with fault code p256300 and p2099, car smoke tested with no vacuum leaks found, vanes on the VNT turbo checked and moving freely with no play, turbo checked on the cold side fins are moving freely with no play, actuator voltage range checked and vacuum tested and moved freely with no leaks voltage ranges from 0.49v to 3.39v with vacuum pump checked.
now the problem
VCDS test - turbo actuator voltage at idle hovers around 1.9 to 2.2v, i believe it should be 3.39v.
the vacuum to the actuator hovers around 9-10 inches of mercury, i believe it should be around 18-20 inches of mercury to fully open vanes and move the voltage to 3.39v. so it looks like i am not receiving enough vacuum to the turbo actuator.
checked vacuum before the N75 and after the N75 solenoid and both read the same 9-10 inches of mercury.
checked vacuum directly at the vacuum pump, it is around 29 inches for mercury which i believe to be correct.
another test I've done is placing a vacuum pump at the turbo actuator and pinch the hose at the EGR vacuum solenoid stopping the vacuum to the solenoid and the vacuum at the turbo goes to the correct value of around 18-20 inches of mercury and to the right voltage.
the car has a had a new borgwarner Egr fitted in july 2024 from VW
I'm totally lost with what else to check.
need help
thank you
just to add
turbo cuts out in high gear on a steep incline between 1600 and 2000 rpm
Problem arises on cold start, after warming the cars drives without problems on normal driving.
Difficult to say, but if you see that the turbo is not being actuated correctly, then something on that vacuum system is not OK...
