you have to put fleets in formation LOOSE or FREE, especially liners. If in REL they will always align with the fleet guide. But i recommend you separate the liners as they are to clumsy running in formation to begin with. Tip is to put hold fire on them, then using POS fire to align all turrets to whatever target location you want - makes it much faster to get shots on target when unmasking behind rocks etc. A bit much as a new person in the game but you will gain alot of use of the liners that way.
