      That is true, but why is it that the Birkin, Kelly and Constance are so highly regarded compared to other bags? Why is that people are willing to go to lengths to get these bags? Although overpriced they have proven to be better quality. According to purse bop, bags that have attributed to growth in sales were (strangely) the Della Cavalleria Élan and the Kelly Mini clouté, as well as the R.M.S. Cargo suitcase and weekend bags.

      It has nothing to do with quality. Like anything it is supply and demand with Hermès. Tell people there is a shortage of anything and the demand will go crazy. They play psychology tricks on people to get them to want to be accepted and worthy. The perfumes have no projection and are not nice, there orans are noisy to walk in, Chypre sandals cut the feet off you, I know because I have the scars. I bought a Calvi wallet that keeps popping open and is so annoying to use costing me €450 for a folded bit of leather. Everyone is justifying purchases by saying quality is good and dissing all other brands. Just saw a post on instagram saying Blue Brume was discontinued due to reacting with the stitching and turning it yellow and there were reoccurring complaints, saw Tamara dropping her bag with a damaged handle back to the “Spa”, really are we sure the quality is good and worthy of the way they treat customers. The share holders of Hermès are laughing at us all. People will pay and say anything to be part of something “exclusive”.

    I became obsessed with Hermes after I started using my Vespa bag. It’s the most comfortable bag I have ever used. It unexpectedly became my dream bag. (The quota bags aren’t my style because of how structured they are). Hermes really puts a lot of thought into their designs, colors and construction. As an artist I appreciate their colors and artistic scarf designs and I love how they have a general simplistic and low key style to their bags which is what I go for in bags. No other brand has impressed me with their quality. My calvi card holder is my favorite wallet, the stole I just bought is the heaviest scarf I ever owned and can’t wait to wear it and their lip glosses and nail polish have become my favorite. I’m trying the soaps next lol. So I don’t agree that Hermes is only successful because of their quota bags. I feel once you go Hermes you can’t go back😂

    I agree with all your points Jess. The thing that changed my mind on Hermes was dipping my toes in the brand, it’s so discrete that I also didn’t get the hype. I tried Hermes because I felt ripped off seeing my Chanel items peeling off. I first looked at each small item I bought at Hermes looking for flaws as I did with Chanel but there aren’t. Each piece is perfect, the attention to detail and the quality is exquisite. Then I remembered what I was expecting when I started buying luxury: getting away from fast fashion to get timeless quality products. Now each time I get an Hermes piece, I appreciate the subtle creativity (especially the collaboration with artists on their scarfs). Not having to check their quality control looking for flaws or accepting wonky pieces despite the price, and just enjoying the piece, being reassured that if I have a quality issue, it will be taken care of. I am solely buying at Hermes now because that’s what I initially thought luxury was. I guess also with the inflation/ period of crisis people are reassured when spending in solid/timeless assets (gold, properties,…) and these criteria only met by Hermes and Jewellery luxury brands at the moment.

    There is another brand that stands out, and that is Bvlgari. All their bags are gold-plated, and the craftsmanship is just incredible! Moreover, they release very few pieces at a time, so you hardly ever see them, which I personally love-it feels like buying jewelry! On the other hand, Hermès doesn't suit everyone. I think you need to be selective with certain bags from each brand. I've tried everything at Hermès, and it looks like I'm borrowing my grandmother's bag 😭🙃 because my style doesn't match at all. For example, the Epi leather from LV is really worth it! Fendi's pieces are also gold-plated (I've never bought them because it's not my style), but most importantly, Delvaux is even more luxurious than Hermès!

It took them almost 1 year to solve the problem and bring the Birkin back . They never offered to exchange it to another bag although it was a brand new !! I understand what you are saying but the thing is..Hermes dealt and resolved all these issues. They accepted the return of LV lover CC's birkin, they replaced the hardware for free, and most Hermes hardware can be polished with a cloth to get rid of tarnish. Do you think Chanel would give the same service or even LV? Louis Vuitton told me it is normal for the canvas to bend and mishappen overtime. I once had a zippy coin purse, which the zip broke in less than a month and I had to really fight to get a replacement zip free of charge- and to top it off, they sewed it on wonky. The after-sales service from other brands, from my experience, is not always where is should be

    Hi Jessie,
    I agree with you! The quality of Hermès items like RTW, scarves, watches, and fine jewelry is superior to other luxury brands, but they often get overshadowed by their BKC.
    I appreciate that Hermès sticks to two collections a year. It gives me more time to appreciate and digest each piece, unlike brands like Chanel and LV, which release new collections almost every month.
    I recently attended "On the Wings of Hermès" and loved their creativity and whimsy. It's fantastic that Hermès offers this worldwide, free of charge, and without any sales agenda. They simply share their philosophy and beliefs behind their creations, unlike other luxury brands that always try to sell you something at events.

  • @theugliestbeast
    @theugliestbeast 2 месяца назад +3

    Although I agree that hermes has good quality, I think why hermes products are longer lastings are simply because it's price, since it's very expensive most people would not use it daily and would be careful while using their stuff. Also most of their design are not practical, making their bag is not for daily use. These factors contribute on why their vintage pieces are in great condition. I do see a lot of hermes bags in poor condition, for people who use their bags like a bag. For example, I am looking for a picotin, and lots of the second hand ones are in bad condition. While I agree that hermes has good quality, I think you are a little bit too biased 😅😅

    • @theugliestbeast
      @theugliestbeast 2 месяца назад +2

      Also it's not all about quality, have you ever thought why you are collecting hermes and not moynat or delvaux which has the same quality as hermes? Maybe you like the product better, maybe hermes marketing get to you. So 'quality' is just another justification we tell ourselves for buying luxury and it's not the only one. If the justification is that "i like chanel" then so be it, nothing ever worth it in luxury, but we still love them.
