Wishing your other half a very happy birthday for Tuesday. Hope your spoiling her bud and cooking up a nice meal. Great vlog hope you had a good weekend.
Enjoying your content 👌 The Aston Expressway operates a tidal flow system which is why there are no barriers across the 7 lanes. In rush hours the lanes are split 4 lanes/2 lanes with 1 free lane between the flow (so 4 lanes into City in the morning and 4 lanes out of City in the evening). Otherwise it operates 3 lanes each direction. Without the ability to change the lanes in rush hours the traffic would be awful as even with 4 lanes open it often becomes gridlocked. So whilst no barrier for safety, the tidal flow system does help to alleviate traffic congestion at peak times.
Top video mate, Thanks for taking us along, Enjoyed watching! Big happy birthday to Leanne for Tuesday! Hope you have a lovely day! Have a good bank holiday weekend mate, Take care
Hi Darren, great video so far. Have not yet got to the bit regarding Birmingham. But what you've experienced, don't worry about where you have to unload, chill out, and tough on the problems. Its not your worry, its the business owner, and him having talks with the local authority or whoever, to sort the mess out out. You have a big vehicle, go with the flow and let people wait. And at the end of the day, they probably know the way around, so can take another route. Enjoy😂. Just started watching again, and you are just approaching J17 of the M6. If you come off here, and turn left at the end of the slip road, then turn left again, go a mile down the road, and you come to Leisure Sales. They sell caravans, but they have a brilliant caravan shop, and not a bad cafe as well🤣. Regarding the A38 in Birmingham, and the marked lanes with no barrier in the middle is a bane of contention and how dangerous a road it is according to the locals. Apparently, no one likes it and want it changed. On the 20mph zones. I agree to some degree to having 20mph in towns only. To be truthful, a lot of this is down to idiot drivers using roads like a race track, but on the other hand, the Councils are using the excuse of using clean air zones and keeping the speed down. Regarding the London Congestion charge, Citizen Khan seems to be totally in charge. What he says, it goes. The London charge started as a small area inside the middle of London, and now its grown to beyond the M25(?). If it was up to him, I think he'd get it up to Birmingham
Great content as always Darren yes I agree Birmingham driving big no no lol 😂 hope you and family have good long weekend and happy birthday to Mrs Darren 🎉🎉
Happy birthday to your better half for next week. Another superb quality video Darren. Your fuel card fiasco story reminded me of when I took my card in to get it checked, got the OK went out and filled the lorry up and then found the guy hadn't checked the card and now it wouldn't work there! 🤦♂ Those tunnels in Birmingham used to be called the Rabbit holes by the old drivers so we just kept calling them that. The A38 (M) Expressway caught my elder brother and Mother out and they drove a pair of tractors on there at 17mph! It was back in the late 70's so traffic was very different to today. A close call with that pedestrian, they just don't realise they can't be seen. I taught my kids to always walk at least 8 feet away from the front of a lorry so they can be seen and over the years have had to point it out to many adults. Perhaps it ought to be a public information film. That Stafford drop was it at Hixon off the A51, as it didn't look like the Stafford one I was thinking of. As you mentioned pulling away at roundabouts in auto, can you use the MAN in manual while pulling away then swap back to auto, like the Scania can? There's other stuff I could mention like the 20mph limits, some have gone a bit overboard with it as I think it should just be near schools and where there are most pedestrian traffic, but this is way too long a comment again. Sorry. All the best and have a great weekend with the family. Over here my youngest boy gets married on Sunday so a bit tense until it's over. Take care.
Big John's looks basically like a MacDonalds, KFC, Papa Joe's type fast food outlet. There's around 17 outlets. Heading to Woolston. You could have gone via the A50 and head towards Latchford, pass over the swing bridge towards Warrington town centre, and keep to the right and follow the road round, turn left at the lights (crossroads), heading towards Howley, then onto Woolston on the A57
20mph limits are ridiculous. I’m currently living in Wales and everyone or most are against the new 20mph limits introduced last year. The road I live on is 20mph but most just do 30 still even the police.
Most of my deliveries are in the Powys area the speed limits are a joke. I have noticed its the locals who don't bother doing 20mph lol...if the locals didn't ask for it then who did
@@Baz303 It’s the Welsh Government and just Labour in general. Seems as if they’re anti cars. Will all be walking down motorways within 10 years or driving at 20mph down them
@@Life_of_Darren yeah I agree with schools. I wouldn’t want to put parents and kids at risk by speeding, it’s common sense. But then you get roads that have no houses either side, a nice wide road and they have them at 20mph too. Then 100 yards up the road it will go to a 50mph then back down to 20mph. None of it makes sense and it truly is just a money grabbing scheme like you said.
@@Steve-bk9gu i cant get 8 a day as i live in spain i only get 8 when i come back to uk well i am 74 now and will retire when im 75 next year as i just passed my medical on august 16th butv i dont want to retire full time as i will help my son out he owns 50% and i own 50%of my trucking bussiness

I’ve seen another video on here about those parked cars on the runway. They are stored up from the scrapage scheme a couple of years ago
Pretty interesting to know

Happy Birthday Leanne for Tuesday. . Don`t let him take you to Gregs for your birthday treat.
Shhh don’t ruin the surprise birthday meal 🤣
Big John is deep fried food a bit dodgy at the best of times, your going back to Sutton where you would have come off before the clean air zone

Thanks bud glad your enjoying the content, I don’t tend to talk about earnings etc because it can vary between your location in the uk etc
Hi Darren I saw 1 of your fellow workers driving a nice MAN
Do you remember which one?
It was the 1 that had been done up with air horns
Oh that would be james truck, its a nice one
You know an areas dodgy when there are tower block flats everywhere and graffiti on them lol
greggs sandwiches are rubbish all i get there is sausage rolls 2x4=8 to last all day
I’m not a fan of them either over priced and not great taste, tend to stick to the breakfast items or a sausage roll of warm still
