New floorpan, get the rusty bits sorted, not so bad, I've seen a lot worse. It's a 64 912, a great looking car,and well worth fixing, so do it,and enjoy it!!
I’m really loving the prospect of following your journey with this car. The idea of finding a true classic with so much potential and investing mountains of TLC to restore it back to its former glory would give me a real buzz. As you say if it’s a long term keeper, it’s well worth spending the money at this end. I’m very envious and really look forward to seeing it’s progress. Good luck. I’m sure you will have a smile on your face ever time you get behind the wheel. 😁
Go for the full resto! This car is really going to help you really know about cars, and also share it with everyone. I did this with a VW Beetle exactly 25 years ago (jeez that just made me feel really old....but I feel much younger than that!). I did all this myself. Now I have a great understanding of how cars work. Invaluable knowledge. Stick with it.
Great car in spite of the work required. Enjoy the process of getting it to whatever level of repair you choose. I certainly will follow your progress. Thanks for the update 👍
Great video 👍🏻. It’s a nice project to work on. Nothing too serious, although you wouldn’t want the floor to collapse at speed or over speed bumps. The front suspension rattled is consistent with the car being bumped up and down kerbs, wearing out bushes. It’s also made the shock absorber weep on that side.
Glad to see you’re not phased by the work, been there myself a few times, my current 76 BMW 2002 wasn’t too dissimilar, got it safe and running well, used it regularly over the last 5 years whilst doing bits and pieces, its worth it in the end.
Not that bad then for a 50 year car - actually surprised it doesn’t need more! With the paintwork tidied up & the interior ret trimmed this thing is going to be a beauty!
cars are ultimately about passion. love of cars is what its all about. the 912 is an easy car to fall in love with and the colour of this one is beautiful too. you will feel good when its all done and you have this in your garage
F12, AMR, 912, defender are chaos... had a 1970 911T project 17 years ago and I was 18 at the time, same issues with the floor, shocks and oil was a California car and I live in California. Sold it 6 years ago and now it's 7x the price. Love your AMR, I drive a 2013 4.7 Vantage with a manual, trying to be like you TGE.. can't afford defenders but had 2 wranglers.
You pretty much described my experience with getting my Irish green 912. It looked great from 20 meters away! I get my 912 next week and can’t wait to see all the Gremlins lurking. I let my emotions take over and just bought it! Ugh, so dumb. Anyhow, c'est la vie. Keep the 912 content coming. signed....new subscriber.
Great to see such commitment to the car and the journey ahead to get it in a condition you want . Good to see you taking the condition and bad news in your stride. It's really interesting content, looking forward to more.
Everything about that Porsche looks cash, the dash board (rev counter etc) looks so good.. the devil on my shoulder is turning my head for a classic Had to edit mate, I'm thinking Fred Flintstone if the floor gives in ?
Brilliant series Tom. This is definitely a sound investment, everything you have mentioned is to have been expected and to be honest it could have been a lot worse. It should all be fixed properly, it is definitely worth it Tom. Looking forward to the videos of the progress. Great original content Sir. Peace and respect, Ben
Saving the 912 videos are great, seeing the process right from the start is really interesting from the viewpoint of a beginner much like myself and I’m sure many others.🚘🎥👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Genuinely interesting content to a mechanical geek like me, more interesting in many ways to the more standard modern car modding fodder. Top trumps fella
I am loving the 912 content lad, it's good to see something take shape and go back to its former glory! I am excited to see more 😊 Epic work as always lad and I hope you are feeling okay too! ❤😊
It's a full body restoration basically. Just take it to the metal, and back up again. Either you go all in or you get rid of it imo. This has the advantage of letting them rebuild the engine, which is probably a good idea. It won't be the end of the world for youif you're throwing around F12s and SVs, and at the end you'll end up with basically a new 912. You probably own watches worth as much as this will cost you. Go for it. You bought chaos after all, what's an old car without entropy? A New One! I don't think you'll make money but it will probably be worth what you have in it. Best of luck young chap.
TGE TV that is really nice! I really like this type of content. You taking the right road... first a “stage 0”... making it 100% save and reliable.. the best base for any upgrades... maybe Singer style??
Really enjoying this journey with your 912, best get the Piloti's soles reinforced you might end up like Fred Flintstones car if the floor goes through. Yabba dabba doo chaos.
Definitely the coolest car you own and so so simple easy to work on. I all ways say the new car are nice and do exactly what they need to but a classics put the biggest smile on your face' there full of character.
i would say if may be safer while the car is off the road to do all the repairs and fixes as than you will not need to worry about the problems later on. Stuff like the bushing and suspension should just be full replaced to ensure longevity because no point in doing one side if the other might fail later on. Listen to what the mechanics tell you and than stack them in terms of importance and than figure out what you want to do.
Yeah man full resto get it bang on !!! Investment probably not sure about these 912’s these but they look cool and look at how Porsche’s prices are going especially if you keep it original as possible 😁 Dunno how much you bought it for just have to weigh it all up ! Good video 👍🏼🇬🇧
Only speaking of myself here. I would do a full restoration. Your car and your call. 912 is boss! How amazing would it be to have it all sorted with a period interior. Ok, now I want one lol
What a car, looks a incredible place some amazing cars there. I don’t think you have, I love the car. It’s got a personality and I wonder what stories it can tell. I love learning about cars and engines. The car is chaos! One of my favourite.
Bag it and throw some fuchs wheels on it, give the interior a overhaul with tan leather with tartan inserts? That would be cash chaos & crisps all in one🤔
It's mega lad, she needs a little love, that's all , she will be mega when done a proper head turner when your around London, makes a great change from the dotted line super cars .. well enjoyed this vlog.. keep this greatness coming .. I follow all you lads .. it's nice two see you out of your group of friends heading a slight different way .. mega lad ...
Really like this classic car content Tom! Your car looks pretty decent for its age in my opinion! I currently have a 924 project car, my very first Porsche (dream came true for me owning a Porsche). Funny to see your car got pretty mutch the same rear suspension setup as mine, but mine still got the stock shock absorbers. Riding horribly at the moment, would love to have the rear a bit more stable.. Saw yours got some Koni's, I'm allso thinking about getting those. May I ask how the rear of your Porsche is feeling at the moment when hou are taking corners etc. Thanks and keep up the good content! :D
Love this Tom. Just watched your video at Bramley and an SLS would be a great buy. I am keen to know what other ‘classics’ you would consider buying or are already on the shopping list for the future. You seem genuinely passionate about the 912, is it just this car or are you a classic fan in general??
Welcome to vintage car ownership From experience I think it’s not that bad You need to expend your vocabulary I don’t see chaos On any old car first job renew Shocks & brake pads & callipers New gasket set will cure your oil leaks Great value me thinks from an air cooled German car of great repute. Let me know if you want to offload the pile Cheers 🌈✌🏼
Great video, sad to see some of the work that was done, but with a little tinkering to make safe it will be fun to drive. They say the difference between Men and Boys is the size of their Toys so you have an new Toy. Cheers Mate

TGE TV Easily 25k pounds unfortunately
New floorpan, get the rusty bits sorted, not so bad, I've seen a lot worse. It's a 64 912, a great looking car,and well worth fixing, so do it,and enjoy it!!
I loved this video! The content is getting better and better. Keep up the good work!
Yep, loving 912 content. Great to see more classics on youtube.
912 is still the best car in your garage
You should definitely do a full restoration be so interesting to watch instead of the same old vids of putting ppf on a brand new car
I’m really loving the prospect of following your journey with this car. The idea of finding a true classic with so much potential and investing mountains of TLC to restore it back to its former glory would give me a real buzz. Love the car. This'll probably turn out to be the MOST fun and involving car you own! 🤗
Go for the full resto! This car is really going to help you really know about cars, and also share it with everyone.

nice to see more "technical" video of your car, it changes and give fresh air to the chanel !
So much more interesting than pulling bed sheets of shiny things up at Redline.

If you replace suspension parts on one side, you do the same on the other side.
Agreed, same principle with tyres and brakes
Loving this! Such a cool car. Glad you’re documenting this.
cars are ultimately about passion. love of cars is what its all about. the 912 is an easy car to fall in love with and the colour of this one is beautiful too. you will feel good when its all done and you have this in your garage
"I'm gonna keep it for as long as they allow petrol cars"
TGE video in 6 months: Why I had to sell my 912
F12, AMR, 912, defender are chaos... had a 1970 911T project 17 years ago and I was 18 at the time, same issues with the floor, shocks and oil was a California car and I live in California. Loving that 996 my clam! One of my dream cars as a young lad.
Loving the Porsche content, nicely does it. What about a BMW E9 next... absolute belter!?
Liam Wilson would be a great addition!

Great series. And the car is not too bad
Good for you mate looking after a bit of motoring history
I need to swap my hot wheels Porsche’s for the real thing 🙄
Irish green with gold badging, it’s beautiful Tom!!! Enjoyed the video
Great content better than everyone else just showing new supercars.
Great to see such commitment to the car and the journey ahead to get it in a condition you want . Good to see you taking the condition and bad news in your stride. It's really interesting content, looking forward to more.
Everything about that Porsche looks cash, the dash board (rev counter etc) looks so good.. the devil on my shoulder is turning my head for a classic

I admire you honesty , well done and good luck on your project ..
This channel is going in a good direction👍
These classic car videos are chaooss, much more interesting than the millions of new cars out every day keep it up TGE
Great work fella, keeping the car alive is so cool. RESPECT.
I vote for full restoration. Just think of the content you'll have with updates etc.!
Great attitude to the 912, glad you’re ahead with the work :-)
I bought my 02 from Greece to avoid rust issues and the engine let go instead. Your 912 is still a cracking car and well worth the effort/expense.
Saving the 912 videos are great, seeing the process right from the start is really interesting from the viewpoint of a beginner much like myself and I’m sure many others.🚘🎥👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Love this. Refreshing new direction for you, Tom 👍🏼
Intro music on this one is way better. goodwork lad!

Great stuff. Keep it up. Fantastic project.
It’s my favourite car in your garage. Looking forward to it’s journey and all the events you can take it to among the Classic Porsche community.
Clicked vid. Hesitated with the like button. Knowledge, insight, care and humour displayed like button swiftly pressed. #mynextphonesgonnabeahuwauwei

Enjoying the 912 stuff , would like a little more 996 too 👍🏻
It’s a journey mate.And a good one at that.Following with great interest 👍🏎💨
I was waiting for this video to happen! It was imminent
Nice video! I would love to see the 912 getting better piece by piece... not a total overhaul in one time
That’s what’ll happen! It’s getting made ‘safe’ & strong first - then the more sexy bits will be done
TGE TV that is really nice! I really like this type of content. You taking the right road... first a “stage 0”... making it 100% save and reliable.. the best base for any upgrades... maybe Singer style??
This series is what I’m here for!!
Really enjoying this journey with your 912, best get the Piloti's soles reinforced you might end up like Fred Flintstones car if the floor goes through. Yabba dabba doo chaos.

Love this, informative, real content compelling, look forward to the journey, btw, you in Modena Tuesday for the superfast spyder launch ?
Do a full restoration
Yesss I like rust and the oily bits :) TGE learns to weld new series!
Was joking at first but would be different. Bet Shmee can't weld lol
That 996 Turbo shell has a story to tell 🤔
Decent that you actually have a fairy good understanding on the basic mechanics unlike Paul Wallace 😂
What a car, looks a incredible place some amazing cars there. I don’t think you have, I love the car. It’s got a personality and I wonder what stories it can tell. I love learning about cars and engines. The car is chaos! One of my favourite.
finally a reason to subscribe!

A very cool and rare car - worth every penny. I would happily buy that from you whenever you decide to sell. Love the colour.
Agree with everyone saying do a full resto, wheeler dealer style!
Yes! Finally! The car asks for it!
Chaos, can't wait to see this refreshed
This is far more interesting than you hopping between a new Lambo or Aston every week. Mixing it up with interesting classics is good
It's mega lad, she needs a little love, that's all , she will be mega when done a proper head turner when your around London, makes a great change from the dotted line super cars .. well enjoyed this vlog.. keep this greatness coming .. Im shocked! an older Porsche with rust (grin) Good for views regardless (cash) Still love it.
NICE:) Keep us posted!

Finally something interesting! Enough with flipping leasing ;D
Welcome to vintage car ownership
From experience I think it’s not that bad
You need to expend your vocabulary
I don’t see chaos
On any old car first job renew Shocks & brake pads & callipers
New gasket set will cure your oil leaks
Great value me thinks from an air cooled German car of great repute.
Let me know if you want to offload the pile
Cheers 🌈✌🏼
