I had a baby betta as my first fish when I was 7, and im proud to say he survived 7 years! Now I have a fish community with a beautiful crown tail male betta, and he is sooo friendly with the other fishes.
Thumbs up for adorable baby betta fish! Have you guys seen the secret preview on my Instagram story at CreativePetKeeping ? I got a new 20 gallon tall tank and set it up! If you would like to get updates be sure to follow me on Instagram and Twitter. My Twitter handle is KasiaPetKeeping.
Creative Pet Keeping wow they're growing really fast! Just wondering, so you like the bettas at petco or petsmart better? I just went to petco today looking for a betta and was surprised of the different variety they have there! (Of course I didn't get one cause I'm so picky about bettas 😂)
They grow so fast. Just to think in 2 and a half months they will look like adults! im glad the swim-bladder problems have reduced. hopefully it will keep going that way!
Im currently at this stage because of covid, the babies are just a little over a month old. They are sooo cute! Feeding them bbs everyday, only daphnia some times and starting to feed them bloodworms that they slurped up like noodles:D. I only have top views, no glass aquarium, but i can see green shiny colors starting to form on some of them. Thanks again for your beautiful videos :)
This has encouraged me to finally attempt to breed betas, I have been keeping fish for over a year and I have been constantly researching the breeding process. I am going to use this video for a guide and attempt it. Thanks for being such a inspiration.
I'm glad I got you interested. For more information I recommend two small betta breeder youtubers to follow (they are much more knowledgeable then me): MoonRiver Bettas ruclips.net/channel/UCefPbz7EpGltRd5XVx3jZrQ Inglorious Bettas: ruclips.net/channel/UCHadMpKT3Cv1BBO-o5bFaWQ
@@CreativePetKeeping thanks for the videos! I'm having swim bladder issues also with my fry (116 fry) and they are 25 days old. Almost all keep laying at the bottom of the tank. I stopped feeding them BBS. Based on your recommendation. But I'm not sure how many days i would fast them? Can you please help, I'm worried as there my first breeding attempt. PS I'm doing water changes everyday, and keeping the bottom of the tank clean
I'm glad that you like this series..it was completely unplanned.. I'm very pleasantly surprised that so many people are interested in my baby bettas :D
I just bred my bettas and I was surprise it worked. everytime I tried it before the female would just not want to but this time she did and well now tomorrow will be the 3 day since they hatch I will be getting ready to remove the male Betta. I'm kind of nervous cause I don't want to harm the fry but also cause I'm not sure if they will make it. They had made it this far so I'm hoping that everything goes alright and the fry make it. Specially since I'm a total. Beginner when it comes to breeding bettas so that's why I'm freaking out and hopefully i didn't messed anything up
There all looking good!! Such a blessing for your first time, it turned out so well!! I think most of them will turn out some sort of koi but I'm thinking a few from the spawn will be completely different
Thank you, I'm not sure...yet... its really fun and really interesting BUT a lot of work. I like that my main tanks can go a day or a few days without maintenance (if I left for vacation for example).. the baby bettas need care not only daily but twice a day. O_O feeding twice or three times a day... 90% water changes daily (sometimes times every other day) and I have all this live food to maintain as well. I'm a fish parent haha
I can so identify with that! I do the goldfish fry every other day as there's only 3 of them!! We are planning on going on vacation in 2.5months and I'm already wondering how I'm going to manage their care.😬
Depending on the types of betta's your bred, which I heard you bred two Koi betta so most likely you'll have just koi betta but you never know you may get a surprise. Man I missed the Silver one you had that would have been a very pretty betta to breed. But the Koi are just as pretty.
Aw, they look like Pygmy Gouramis at this point. I guess it makes sense since bettas are related to gouramis and Pygmies are the smallest species of gourami there is :)
Hello again, " inglorious bettas " just clarified for me the issue of sliding betta fry. As fry, the swim bladder is but a small organ next to the stomach. It extends down to the lower half of the body as the fish matures. So yes, the overfed fry's stomach does pressure the bladder causing the sliding and can and does cause permanent damage. Thank God i said " i'm guessing....." in my previous comment :)
Can I️ ask you what tank you have your babies in? (Also, how many almond leaves did you put in the tank and how often do you clean the tank?) sorry for all the questions! I’m going to be breeding bettas eventually but wnat to make sure I️ have good info. Thanks!
My betta fry are a month old and one of the fry is around the size of your fry at a month old. But most of them are still very tiny. Any tips on how to improve their growth? I feed them bbs everyday and they are living in a 5 gallon, which is halfway filled.
will my 3months old betta be fine in a fish tank with guppies? It's my first time to keep a betta fish... Your opinion is highly appreciated. Thank you
hi just today i started watching about your bettas i have a male vieltail betta and 5 female vieltale however my male betta isnt interested in building a bubble nest at all when i got him he'd been alone for a while can anyone give me some advice he does the whole flaring and what not but im worried because hes been on his own for a long time that he may give up if one female is moody if you get me any advice 😁😍 ✌
im struggling so much,i put my female betta in a container in the male tank then he starts with the bubble nest and doesn't come far with it,the last one was like 1.5 inces then he stopped and the bubbles start popping,i don't know if hes too young maybe?im not sure but i know the female is ready she got the vertical stripes and a belly full of eggs,is she going to lose them???please help me Creative pet keeping
hi there, even in nature, betta fry grow at different rates. be weary of feeding too much daphnia; they are high in fat. in my experience, the sliding seems to be as a result of overfeeding. i'm guessing it's pressure on the nerves that regulate bladder function ( not pressure on the bladder itself )that's causing the dysfunction. now after many years of adjustments in breeding and raising methods, sliding is a thing of the past.
Thanks for advice, I'm still trying to find the sweet spot in regards to the correct feeding amount and ratio of different foods. I have lots of room to improve. What are your favorite foods to feed? Seems like all the breeders I look at have different food preferences and the amounts they feed also varies. Ive cut back on the amount I feed..but I think I should cut back even more.. it doesn't help that I have a few greedy fatties that pig out haha bettas sure like to eat.
Like all creatures of the wild, betta fry will hunt and forage for their food. This almost always means that they will get enough to live, grow and procreate; not to pig out at a banquet. As pet owners, we relish the interaction with our pets. With fish, this is mostly limited to feeding, and so oftentimes we overfeed. Bettas appreciate animal protein and vegetable matter. I give my fry ( and throughout their lives ) their first feeding of a blend of powered:- flakes, algae wafers and zeigler pellets, and a few minutes later, baby brine shrimp. In the late afternoon they again get the powered blend while the older guys get live guppy fry or mosquito larvae. Just remember that a betta feels full with a volume of food equal to that of the size of their eye ball. hope this looong reply helps :)

It's amazing how much they grow from week to week. You're doing a great job with them. Do you think you'll breed again?

I had to culled three batches because of swim bladder disorder. RIP young Fighters.

Inglorious bettas has so much good information.. I knew I was having swim bladder issues with my fry but I was not aware the sliding was a part of it.
if i'm not mistaken, she is formally educated as a biologist. but she looks so young :)
That air pump is very strong for the fry..
Awwww so cute
ahh yay, i've been waiting for this video!! 💖
What type of plants do you have floating on the surface of the tank? My fish would love them!
Duckweed and water-lettuce and parts of random plants from my other tanks.
Great video once again keep it up
😮 it's already been a month
Do you cull them? What do you do with deformed ones?
Are u planning to continue you breeding your koi bettas? If so will you adopt out or sell your fry once they're older?
nice baby betta . what do you feed baby betta ? thanks
Hey there just wondering what swim bladder is 😀👍

what are your plans for them when they get older and aggressive?
Can I️ ask you what tank you have your babies in? (Also, how many almond leaves did you put in the tank and how often do you clean the tank?) sorry for all the questions! I’m going to be breeding bettas eventually but wnat to make sure I️ have good info. Thanks!

Bettas grow at different rates..so its ok if yours grow slower ^_^
My spawn was large. But they all died. Now I have 40+-, but their very strong
Do baby bettas play by nipping tails and chasing?
Which is best growing food from Betta fry..pls tell...
what are the floating plants you have?
You should do a give away for some!
How old would they have to be to separate the males? It is crazy the size different in some....
Nice

Hi! Can we see the parents?
Dimitris Greece
this is just a recommendation, but i would get a few shrimp to eat rotting plants, excess food, and possible dead babies
Would you recommend breeding bettas or guppies
Guppies are a much better beginner breeding fish
what do you feed them
Will you be selling some of your Bettas?

What light do you use on your baby betta tank??
Its a average desk lamp. I believe its a Michaels craft lamp.
