Been a member of the club for years. You can fulfill your obligation. Then cancel the membership. Then they will invite you back. It’s exclusives are pretty cool. I still need to get The Black Cauldron. A super underrated animated movie.
Love the video! I live in Canada and I joined the Disney Movie Club earlier this year when I saw they had started making Bluray’s again. I have picked up almost all the ones you have in your video along with a bunch of others. Almost up to 30 exclusives now. Hope they keep making them! Now we just have to get them to release their Disney + MCU TV shows on Bluray!! Keep up the content!
I'm a puerto rican man who came from P.R in 1974 when I was 5,have been a huge movie/music buff/historian,this is me and my son's favorite film because it has a touching moment when Goofy tells his son "Max that No matter how old u get you'll always be my son".It's was just a great film for a father and son to watch together and it's something we'll never forget, even now we always bring up the day we watched it together for the first time.I'm sure it's the same for Mom's and daughters too who have created great memories through the love of a movies.
WowWowWow! Big Fan of your informative videos... but this video hit close to home! Just learned that a film I worked on is finally on BluRay! Tom And Huck (1995) has never been released in it's original widescreen (2.35) aspect ratio until NOW! Remember getting the pan and scan DVD and it was so terrible that I threw it away! LOL! Looks like I'll be joining DMC so Thanks for highlighting your buys!👏👍
I have 2 of the Disney Club titles Honey I Shrunk the Kids and Holes. My big complaint is NO Special Features. This is very strange to me. I kept my Holes DVD just for all the special features included.

@@MonkeyspankO actually did pick that one up recently. Remembered liking it a lot as a kid. Also bought The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes though that one didn’t do so much for me now - it does star a very young Kurt Russell however.

Can't say these hold much nostalgic value for me and apart from a couple like Honey I Shrunk the Kids these were a bit after my time but a nice haul for yourself Jeff given they were films of YOUR formative years. I have not even seen most of these as I was a bit older at that stage and wasn't watching movies like this. My formative years nostalgic Disney is from the 70s and early to mid 80s. At that time we got all the old classic stuff like Swiss Family Robinson, Treasure island, 20000 Leagues Under the Sea etc as well as some newer stuff that started coming out like The Black Hole, From etc. Not to mention all those classic animated films of those eras. Fortunately most of those are also available on the Disney Club yellow labels and I've managed to pick those up and they look really really nice.
Woah I had been hoping for "Ice Princess" on Blu-ray and was so desperate I bought an HD download at one point. I am now super excited to pick this up.
I just talked about this earlier this week. A lot of movies I’ve been looking to upgrade, seem to be exclusive to the Disney Movie Club. The Kid, Jungle 2 Jungle, Mighty Joe Young, Tom and Huck, Honey I Shrunk the Kids, and the (GOAT) A Goofy Movie. I think Mighty Ducks is exclusive too.
@@twcc406 I saw the original (1949) a few years after seeing the remake in the 90s. Great old school effects from the 'stop motion model monster effect master Harryhausen'. Haven't seen the physical release though; good call out.
Crazy I put up my Disney movie club pickups video this morning then you posted this crazy. And to be clear you don't have to buy the movies they release each month. You just have to buy 4 more movies any movie at some point at full price. And then you are done with mandatory buying then you can just buy as little or as much as you want. But first i’m busy building all the physical media cases, my god that is time consuming, just put together 9 of them (smaller ones) as i have to DIY them with room acoustical treatment!
I'm tempted to join so I can get Honey, I Shrunk the Kids on Blu-ray. I've wondered why I've never seen a newer edition of that movie in stores. Sometimes I still see the full frame DVD of that movie in stores from years ago.
Michelle Trachtenberg hosted Truth Or Scare for the longest time. That right there was my introduction to horror as a kid. I need to figure out where I can watch it again
Note about that Goofy Movie BD: It is the FIRST time the wide-screen version of the film has been made available in North America. Even the old DVD was pan & scan.
I used to be a Disney Money Club member, at first it was pretty neat. But after I complete my required purchases it started to get sketch. Like my credit card got lost so I got a new one, they emailed me that they couldn’t charge me for like 3 months, I wasn’t planning on updating it. then out of no where I got a movie in the mail. I looked at my back statement and there it was they some how got my new credit card information. Also they send movies for like $40 with nothing special or insert all the while the same movie is listed on the site for like $20.
These clubs can be pricey, but this one may be worth it for the exclusive movies. I picked up The Black Cauldron ('85) and The Watcher in the Woods ('80). Both were surprisingly dark for being Disney movies.
Wait, what, they finally released Black Cauldron on BD? Oh I really want that. Too bad they don't ship to Sweden. Price on eBay with shipping and import taxes would be 80-90 bucks, and I don't want it THAT much when I already have the DVD.
Fun fact: Jungle 2 Jungle is based on the French film Un indien dans la ville (released in America as Little Indian, Big City), and that film was theatrically released by Disney’s Touchstone label and released to VHS by WDHV. It has never been released on Blu-ray, DVD, or even laserdisc in America. The original French audio was poorly dubbed into English, and while the French version with subs is okay, the English version sucks balls. Ironically, Roger Ebert predicted that there would he a Tim Allen-led remake of this by Disney, without any inside knowledge or any news from Disney, nearly a year before production of Jungle 2 Jungle began.
Cool video showing some good films that Disney has put out on blu-ray and I have gotten some of those films on blu-ray but I read somewhere Disney was going to release 1996 live action 101 Dalmatians on blu-ray along with some others films like 1997 flubber through Disney movie club but that was last year that I read it was surpose to come out but now there is no word on if they were cancelled or push back so have you head anything about if those films were cancelled or delayed
That's a pretty impressive haul! I'm just about sure DMC has Blu-ray editions of both Old Yeller and The Love Bug. I wouldn't mind having both of those.
I hope one day Disney get a new boss who will give us a DVD, Blu Ray and 4K of SONG OF THE SOUTH! I live in the UK, so one day after I move out of my awful “care” home, I will get my country’s VHS release. If I lived in the US, Canada or anywhere else where NTSC is used, I’d get the Japanese Laserdisc!
I joined the Disney Movie Club a few years ago just to get The Mighty Ducks trilogy on Blu-ray. Little did I know those are some bad transfers. I'm not a big Disney movie guy, so I found very little use besides getting those movies. I tried making it work, but just couldn't in the end. If you have access through a friend's account who's willing to order them for ya, that's the way to go (or go 50-50 on the account). Even though they're not the best transfers, you should have gotten The Might Ducks movies too! Nice haul.
Thanks, Jeff. These kind of topics keep me coming back to the channel. Although you can, indeed, find many of the Disney Exclusives for sale on Amazon ( at a much higher price, if available at all), getting them through the DMC is still the way to go. I am a member of DMC, and in a recent order, I added these blu-ray exclusives to my collection: Bedtime Stories, The Absent-Minded Professor (B&W), Son Of Flubber, Cool Runnings, Holes, Mighty Joe Young, The Parent Trap (1998), Jungle 2 Jungle, A Kid In King Arthur's Court, and I'll Be Home for Christmas. Ten titles for $144, with free shipping.

@@JeffRauseo Sadly, this link does not work from Canada. That is to say there is a Canadian version, but your friend's referral is for US only so I cannot get that 5th disc. I did sign up, however, and appreciate the heads up. I was not really aware of this modern-day Columbia House for Disney films. lol
I’ll be Home for Christmas is an amazing Christmas movie… it’s sad JTT doesn’t act anymore but it’s amazing how a former child actor went on to achieve degrees at both Harvard and Columbia… this is a pertinent point because his co-star in Tom and Huck died of a drug overdose at 25… they once shared the screen together but their lives went in completely different directions
There's no info anywhere (even on their site) as to whether this is available outside of the US.. The format of the address entry form is the only thing that suggests it isnt
I'm kind of a DMC expert at this point, as for over a decade I've lead a fan campaign on Facebook to get Disney to release their unreleased back catalog titles. This has been more narrowed to the Disney Afternoon shows, but still I've learned a lot. This week as a matter of fact, DMC is releasing the complete Disney Afternoon show "Rescue Rangers" on blu-ray. If you are a fan of shows like this, I'd ask that you A.) join DMC and buy it and B.) ask them on social media to release more such titles. Anyway, some more thoughts on DMC as a whole: -DMC originally released lesser know titles on DVD, the kind of stuff they would never release in retail like episodes from the "Wonderful World of Disney" back in the 50's, 60's and 70's. After Disney bought Marvel and LucasFilm, the kind of mainstream Disney specific titles like the ones in this video that would have been general retail titles suddenly turned into "DMC Exclusives" with their blu-ray releases. -Except for 2020 (which was a strange year), DMC usually puts out about 12 new titles a year. Lastly it's been just blu-ray, however the complete "Proud Family" TV cartoon is being released soon on DVD, so they do still do DVD releases sometimes. -Much of what they released so far as theatrical films tend to be based on anniversaries of those titles. So, as this year is an anniversary year for "Flubber," there is the thought we may see it by year's end. -They tend to be bare bones releases. However, sometimes they have ported over previous DVD extras to the blu-ray. This was the case for the animated films "The Black Cauldron," "Make Mine Music, and "Melody Time." -So far there have not been any Marvel, LucasFIlm/Star Wars, or Fox titles released as part of the DMC Exclusives. They have been 100% pure Disney based titles. However, you never know what the future holds. -DMC has a "movie of the month" titles, that is usually new, general retail titles. You can skip them if you like and use just the exclusives to fulfill your membership commitment. My personally feeling is the exclusives are the only good reason to be a DMC member as you can pick up the general retail titles for less other places. -Generally, if you find DMC Exclusives being sold outside of DMC, they are second hand sales. This is the case on Amazon. That said, Bull Moose and Hamilton Books has had some of the "Herbie" films and those were not second hand sales.
I was so happy when they released "A Goofy Movie" on Blu-ray. Now, they just need to release "Homeward Bound" on Blu-ray and I will be completely content.
I just left disney movie club. You will only save money when you sign up. The only reason to keep your membership is to get those exclusive titles. I left because I had maybe 4 days to respond to one of the feature title requests and received no email on it. Low and behold I get charged $35 for the HD version of Shang Chi, and I don't care too much for that movie.
I appreciate this feature focuses on 1990's nostalgia, but is there a section within the Disney Movie Club for older stuff ?, I ask as 'Song of the South' (1946) is only available as the ROIO DVD from LD source or the non-USA Blu-ray from the 35-mm film. The current Blu-ray is OK but still needs further cleaning and if Disney are not going to do the work they should hand over the files to Kino or Criterion.
I wish Disney would come out with their DTV series. They were cartoon clips of old and new animation (at that time) and synchronized with modern or oldie songs. They made the lyrics into a storytelling experience. I know they would be a hit today. It was in stereo and it could be done in HD restoration. They had lots of versions too. I still have a few I recorded on VHS format. But...no more VHS player. 😢
I'll be honest from what you've shown, there's 1 maybe 2 movies I would be interested in, the rest I can see why disney wouldn't do a wide release, its a lot of money to put into things that probably won't sell well. Still cool that they're even doing it though!
Flubber for sure needs to happen. What I want to see though since they’ve done og freaky Friday and the apple dumpling gang. I want to see million dollar duck and hot led and cold feet done on blu ray.
I’m fine keeping my Disney dvds since they actually have features. Ridiculous how the black cauldron & holes dvds have so much more when a Blu-ray Disc is significantly superior. I’m tired of Disney and people that willingly subscribe to this is just allowing Disney to profit off of even lower quality release than what they normally do. Hell they even market them With lies; like how they said those old cartoons were uncut/unaltered but it was the same 90s edit that removed all the racists stuff they’ve been peddling since than. I Can’t invest in Disney anymore. Which is why I stream all their d+ exclusives through secondary sites. They don’t deserve or need my money and they should not have anyones. If we all write letters, email them constantly or flood their social media accounts than they will know but giving them money for these abysmal releases is a joke itself. Demand more and stopping rolling over to take it from them
Black Cauldron actually has 2 bonus features (Donald Duck cartoon and a deleted scene). Some exclusives are finally starting to put a few bonus features
@@bigjim2573 and the dvd has more so what’s the point to upgrade? For the better picture quality? D+ has it in 4K which is the same mediocre transfer. I get what you’re saying but it’s a joke what Disney is doing. Even trying to give them the benefit of the doubt is beyond them. Also they don’t even have the original theatrical audio; almost all of them are upmixes or newly made Audio tracks. Just making overpriced coasters is Disney’s new motto
Disney is claiming that this is the first time on bluray which is false advertising. Also it's not a Disney exclusive. Second Sight Films released Flight of the Navigator in 2019 with a brand new exclusive 4k remaster. I highly recommend this version. Plus the bluray is region free.
My DMC collection (I’ve purchased them all on eBay and it’s not that many): - Holes (15th Anniversary Edition) Blu-ray - Old Yeller Blu-ray - The Parent Trap (1998/20th Anniversary Edition) Blu-ray - Swiss Family Robinson (55th Anniversary Edition) Blu-ray Since we’re getting Chip n Dale: Rescue Rangers on Blu-ray from the DMC in a couple of days, I hope we get stuff like Phineas and Ferb and other classic Disney shows on Blu-ray!
I bought a bootleg copy many years ago which turned out to be in fairly good condition so at least I have a copy. As a naive young white kid, I really loved it. It has a number of catchy songs and the blending of live action and animation was quite good for the time. But the racial stereotypes are too pervasive to be released today.

Anyway, some more thoughts on DMC as a whole:
-DMC originally released lesser know titles on DVD, the kind of stuff they would never release in retail like episodes from the "Wonderful World of Disney" back in the 50's, 60's and 70's.
This was the case for the animated films "The Black Cauldron," "Make Mine Music, and "Melody Time."
-So far there have not been any Marvel, LucasFIlm/Star Wars, or Fox titles released as part of the DMC Exclusives.
Walt would roll over in his grave... if he knew what Disney as done with physical media.
Jungle 2 jungle is 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
I'm hoping they release Adventures of Huck Finn, White Fang, Iron Will and the 1996 101 dalmatians remake on blu ray
101 Dalmatians is already on bluray. My local Best Buy has the steelbook in stock.
Does the membership only offer Blu Ray? Or are there 4k and dvd options?
Do they put any special features on these?
Hardly
I was so happy when they released "A Goofy Movie" on Blu-ray. Now, they just need to release "Homeward Bound" on Blu-ray and I will be completely content.
Where did you get that Hoodie?
Wonder if they're going to release Song of the South on bluray.... or anything !
I have a VHS player that can both play NTSC and PAL formats
It's funny because literally 3 days ago I purchased most of these titles just waiting to be shipped to my house
I have already purchased a lot of the great choices you got. But I am mad that Flubber isn’t available 😠
I got the black hole Disney club on eBay $77.26 imported to the UK. My most expensive purchase on blu ray . All the best
Thanks for the info
Jeff, the light circles in your eyes is the first thing I see when your videos start. I really suggest you get some indirect lighting to correct this.
Sounds like old COLUMBIA HOUSE.
I think they updated their tos so you no longer have a time limit on the four full price titles
Funny how I’m now the hookup for a few people.
I'm surprised you didn't get the Mighty Ducks trilogy!
I have it already!
@@JeffRauseo Ahh, nice! Then all your choices make sense to a 90s kid like myself! Just wish they'd release Brink in BluRay now
Wait Mighty Joe Young is about an Elephant? 🐘
Some of these releases are kinda sub-par, old transfers and lack of special features, but I’d rather have them on the format than not at all.
Will we ever get there will be blood on 4K?
By the way, Disney Movie Club recently released Flight of the Navigator (1986) as an exclusive blu-ray, which is one of my all-time favorites.
Disney is claiming that this is the first time on bluray which is false advertising. Also it's not a Disney exclusive. Second Sight Films released Flight of the Navigator in 2019 with a brand new exclusive 4k remaster. I highly recommend this version. Plus the bluray is region free.
@@ForEternia The Disney one is sooooooo sub-par.
My DMC collection (I’ve purchased them all on eBay and it’s not that many):
- Holes (15th Anniversary Edition) Blu-ray
- Old Yeller Blu-ray
- The Parent Trap (1998/20th Anniversary Edition) Blu-ray
- Swiss Family Robinson (55th Anniversary Edition) Blu-ray
Since we’re getting Chip n Dale: Rescue Rangers on Blu-ray from the DMC in a couple of days, I hope we get stuff like Phineas and Ferb and other classic Disney shows on Blu-ray!
This will probably never happen but I would love for DMC to put out song of the South on Blu-ray.
I bought a bootleg copy many years ago which turned out to be in fairly good condition so at least I have a copy. As a naive young white kid, I really loved it. It has a number of catchy songs and the blending of live action and animation was quite good for the time. But the racial stereotypes are too pervasive to be released today.
Would love to have these movies on blu I already dish out $81 a year for their streaming service Disney + to subscribe to yet another subscription of theirs I cant do it
Do you watch anime? I hope more anime gets 4k uhd blurays sometime. Like movies and box sets of shows that I collect.
I had to get Return to Oz
Look forward to your videos daily sir. Hope all is well
