If theres one commodity u can slowly add after a 7-10% dip for long hold , its gold ..frankly its the only commodity which has proved its worth for more rhan 5000 years ...
The Comex is also a factor: The Key to the Comex Precious Metals price suppression (in play since 1973) is to keep the short contracts on these precious metals perpetually rolling over rather than expiring, for if the contracts were to ever expire, an actual physical delivery of the underlying metals would be legally required. Physical which the Comex doesn't have!

Basic down-to-earth Technical analysis, done by someone who is good at it.
Yes, technical analysis can be done by anyone and can be just as misleading as fundamental analysis...but, it's as good as anything else out there in helping you understand what's going on. If you're really good at combining the 2, you're probably doing pretty damn good. Seems you start with technical analysis...and then look to fundamentals for convergence. If they both are pointing the same way...
Of course, you could start with fundamental analysis and then see if the technical supports it.

I don't know how they can talk about the drop in gold without mentioning that comex raised the margin requirement, again, which took effect Monday. China also raised the margin. Quite a coincidence.
Bullion banks still large short positions, dificult to cover
The problem is, the powers to be can roll the gold prices with paper gold like the US dollar. The physical gold prices vs paper gold certificates. When demanded for physical gold increase, they have to back off and the price of gold will show some increase not at all what its real price is but some signs of going up. This also happens with sliver there is a huge shortage of physical sliver. I can't wait to see how this plays out. If everyone just demanded physical gold or silver which the price skyrocket.

Platinum is scarcer than gold and has historically been considered more precious than its yellow counterpart.
🤔 Only 190 metric tonnes of platinum are mined each year compared to gold’s whopping 3,460 tonnes. To boot, gold is mined all over the world whereas the supply of platinum is concentrated to South Africa, with Russia a distant second.

I would buy more silver but the premiums are ridiculous. I bought too high a few years ago so I am still in the red. Hopefully it will go through the $30 barrier. I bought as an investment, a wrong move but I will get my money back eventually.
Haven't the margin percentages just been increased for metals futures on the exchanges? This would cause a sell-off by those who can't accept the higher exposure.

It’s not a crash. You can use the word “correction” but to me it just follows the path. And that Fibonacci chart looks okay but can be made better for clarity.

Does anyone actually police the Central banks? Purchasing thousands of ounces a week makes me suspicious that they are keeping the values low. Buying and selling in the stock exchanges is monitored for manipulation but is there a mechanism for tracking purchases/sales by these folks?

Gold is a tier 1 asset, if u ever go to borrow money as in a mortgage for a house your bank will look at your gold holdings the same way they look at cash or other real estate u may own. Gold is money, everything else is debt. My bank was willing to lend me more $ based on my gold holdings. Your comment is a typical North American view point, unfortunately for North America, the rest of the world loves gold and is eagerly buying it up. You can buy anything with gold anywhere in the world.
Use your cash to pay any vendor.
