He isn’t lost. He is a known bear and lives under an overpass off 240 during winter. Sounds like a joke but I’m being dead serious. It comes into town often, especially in spring after a short period of brumation. Bears are not true hibernators. They maintain their body temp while dormant, they just slow down their other body functions.
The state of NC has been conducting a study of black bears in and around Asheville for several years. It’s called the NC Urban/Suburban Bear Study. It’s the largest study of its kind ever conducted so you see a lot of black bears around Asheville fitted with GPS collars. There’s tons of bears that live in Asheville. If you want to see a bunch of bears drive around the city at night. The black bears are all up in the dumpsters at night like a bunch of big rats.
@@wasidanatsali6374 I don't live there I don't live there I live in Oregon out in the country I never see a bear Live in the country never see a bear live in the city see bears all the time Something doesn't seem right there
This is the kind of stuff that happens when you destroy their habitat slowly they have no other choice but to come and explore what's going on on the other side I just hope they capture him and take him back to his habitat.
He’s in his habitat looking for trash to eat. Black bears are like coyotes they’re thriving on the trash and pets they find to eat around human settlements. The city of Asheville has been crawling with black bears for years. It’s the same in Gatlinburgh, TN and other cities near the Great Smoky Mtn NP. Watch the YT video “More bears, people, and problems”.
I've encountered black bears in the wild before. I always just act big, kick stuff and scare it away as I was taught. What would one do if a black bear approaches them in an urban environment where lots of people are around (aside from calling authorities)? Do you do anything differently in the encounter itself? Because this bear doesn't fear humans as much as some of the black bears I've come across.
This bear has clearly had numerous encounters with humans (seems to have a collar). Most blackbears see us as apex predators who don’t prey on thrm, but simultaneously aren’t to be fucked with.
@@TrueAfricanHero Yes, their land! I imagine that it is a miracle that the bears and other wildlife survived once the white man arrived with his firearms
This poor bear is lost don’t know how to get back to where he was. Please don’t hurt him he just wants to go home please help him get back home
