One of my biggest issues is photos - but not in finding them but getting them into a template to look good. My photos are mostly of horses and they are photos I take myself. They do not necessarily fit into template photo frames - especially those often-used portrait orientation frames. And they don't necessarily look consistent. And, they are the most important part of the piece because the horses are what we are advertising. Absolutely any tips for using photos like this would be so welcome. Love your videos!
@@kristinaus4634 Thanks Kristin! This is a very good point. My first suggestion would be to get creative with the frames available in Canva (other than the usual ones), but I know sometimes that takes a lot of trial and error to make it work! Also don't be afraid to use crops of your photos. Sometimes a tighter crop can add a lot of intrigue and make people want to see more. (Especially with those beautiful creatures!) And we usually want them to get in touch to know more. 😁 I'll see what I can pull together for a future vid! Thanks again - and welcome! 🖤
This video would be so helpful to ALL aspiring graphic designers. Loved that you spoke about your technique and then showed your work. Wish I had this kind of instruction when I was going to school. So many of my design courses were just lecture and then we were on our own. Great job, thank you
Hey Garry! It's a Canva font called 'Brown Sugar'. Great for headline etc but wouldn't recommend it as a paragraph font as it can be difficult to read.
thanks Wayne for your amazing videos...this one was so informative..But can you take up through the process of how you actually did one of these templates using your process? thanks.. Norm
Thank you! I scrolled along the 'You might want to try' section until I found the category called 'Magazine - Portrait' and then browsed those templates until I found one I liked. This is the same template I used: www.canva.com/templates/EAFt1PCiqv8-fashion-magazine-in-mint-green-green-black-and-white-minimal-type-driven-style/
