HEY Y’ALL :)
I decided to give you guys a little life update :) I had knee surgery last week to repair the Osteochondritis Dissecans (OCD) in my right knee. With this being my third knee surgery on this knee we finally decided to replace the damaged cartilage altogether! Here, I pretty much explain my knee injury history starting from when I was 11 years old.
Enjoy!
Let me know below in the comments what videos you guys would like me to film… I NEED IDEAS!

wow! just found this video by chance. I've had a loose body from OCD for 7 years since i was 14 and now i'm getting an arthroscopic surgery less than a month from now to remove the loose body and 2 other pieces that are loosened and unstable, and i'm probably gonna need the transplant surgery as well in the future. i feel like we've got the same exact stuff going on :) i'm so glad we can relate because everyone is always so confused when i try to explain the loose body getting displaced and moving around my knee :) i wish you a speedy recovery and hope everything goes smoothly!
Thanks so much for the video. I hope you made a full recovery.
Thank you for sharing this. I sent you a message on instagram about my sons journey (who is 15). It’s refreshing to see a athlete go through this and still compete on a very high level. It’ll definitely give my son some hope after his second procedure later this week. Continued blessing!
hope you have a fast recovery!! 💕
Feel better soon Gina(Janay)❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hi! I came across your story and hope you are now 100% recovered. Going through knee issues is no joke.
I have been living in pain for the last 7 months due to a cartilage injury on the knee cap and currently considering undergoing arthroscopy surgery as an attempt to fix it just the way you described your first surgery. They also hinted if the damage looks pretty bad, they would need to transplant the cartilage as in your later surgery. I'm pretty scared to do it =( !
This process has been really hard on me, but I like to think there still hope. I'll really love to hear an update on how are you doing and really wish you are feeling much better and back at dancing and enjoying life to the fullest.
Wow, I am sorry you have gone through all this, I love your spirit! Thank you for making this video, I am getting ready to schedule my surgery...it's nice to know I'm not alone!
heyy! It's 2 years ago fun :) I have this for 3 years ( im thirtheen now ) but they found out what it was like 4 months ago. It littarly came out of nowhere cuz i don't really sport that much. Then I had a brace for this months and it was supposed to heal by itself but it didn't :) now i have surgery in 18 days and they can take it out or put screws in it. I'm so scared so thank you for sharing this! x
Way to be strong Nay. Praying for a fast recovery for you❤
I hope you feel better soon!!
i have osteochondritis dessecans and i’m 13. i’m getting my first surgery (hopefully last) in april
haha "last:. I was Naive too once.
That’s so crazy my ocd Lession started when I was 12 playing football I just had surgery 2 years ago I’m good but My knee is probably still on 70% healthy
hey, my name is Anouk and i got osteochondritis in both knees, I had 5 surgerys on both of my knees. I dont know anyone who has this kind of knee issues. i hope it will be allright and you feel better! (sorry, I'm from the Netherlands. not the best in this language)
Anouk Beeksma my son has OCD in knees. After reviewing the MRI, the doctor suggested that he needs to be in a wheelchair for 3 months in hopes It heels it self being that no weight is put on them. He does not have a loose body. Did your doctor have you try to see if it can heel by staying off of them before diagnosis if surgery? Why did you have to go through surgery 5 times?
Hey! Thanks for your video. Super encouraging to see your positivity and enthusiasm in a less than ideal situation.
Do you know what the size of your OD lesion was? I recently was diagnosed with Osteochondritis Dissecans and I’m curious how the size of my defect compares to the one that you dealt with. Thanks in advance!
PS - are you fully recovered now? I hope so!
Janay I hope your knee is still doing fine. I see you on Peng’s videos at gymnastics meets.
I’ve never found anyone with the same thing as me. I hope you healed well!!
Btw i had it on both sides of my right knee (lateral and medial). I was diagnosed at 9 with OCD and knock knees, at my first surgery right before I turned 10 and my second at 11. Both arthroscopic except on my second I also had a growth plate inhibitor (not exactly sure what it’s called) placed in on my second. Healing sucks and I’m having my third surgery in June, to have the plate and screws removed. Hopefully I’m finally done with OCD
Hope you have a super fast recovery! Prison break is a great show..... you could perhaps check it out and watch it (if you haven't already) while you are on your cpm machine.
I have a cpm machine right now for hip surgery, I HAVE TO DO 6 HOURS A DAY!!😂 I wish I got 3-5!
I’m here Bc I just had surgery a couple days ago from this reason
I got nerve blocks and when it wore off oml I’ve never been in so much pain
I have ocd of the knee as well and I have to get surgery and I have to be on crutches for 6 weeks and I can’t play any sports for a while
I have to get this surgery in 2 weeks but I’m so scared lmao
Omg i can feel you i had also the operation and walk now with crunches😒 do you have problems with other joints? And you should check your vitamin D3 because thats very important for the bones and most of the people with osteochondritis dissecans have a noun from vitamin d3
I had just about the exact same thing but I was non-weight bearing for 12 weeks
I hope you recover quickly
Hey love these braids what type of braids are they?
I had the same exact surgery twice (the first one didn’t work) I had them when I was 8 and 9 so we caught it early
Emma same and I’m having it done again
Everything Kasia I did too. First surgery at 9 second at 11 having third at 12. It sucks but totally worth it to get rid of the pain of the OCD.
When you say cadaver, are you talking about a dead person or an animal?
nessagirl1911 a human cadaver
