I’m new to working with polymer clay and have yet to create a fully successful leaf cane. What a revelation this method is! I can’t wait to try it. Thank you!
I sooo appreciate when you give the percentage of clay that you start with. Like if you use a quarter of a brick or three /fourths of the brisk. It makes it easier to duplicate the piece without having clay left over or not enough. Thanks ! As always Samantha, your tutorials are awesome.I am about to give the new leaf cane a go!! Stay safe young lady,Sending love and healthy wishes from Georgia!
One more thing! I am sure most of us will agree that since we have been quarantined to our homes, your videos are helping to relieve some of the anxiety of being stuck in the house!!
I really like the pattern of this one. I may be able to get it to look like a coleus leaf I play with the color pattern. Thank you.( Making mini garden)
Thank u for telling us how much clay you use when making your projects. And the colors. That is so helpful! Love your accent😍 And your video. Stay healthy and safe!!
Samantha, I just love this leaf cane! It's got so much pizazz over the usual one! Do you know how lucky you are as a creator? I just saw a great tutorial today, from a very talented PC artist that has 100k subscribers, but only 800 or so likes, put out a month before yours... I think the difference is her content. She seems to do sculpting in media characters from other people's art, and only one video in four is original art, of sculpture and miniatures... I think PC jewelry hits the nail on the head! Just think, if you're inclination was different, you could be at the bottom of the barrel! I think 100k subscribers is just around the corner for you!
Very pretty!! I really like your bright colors, you do such beautiful work. One question.....your finished pieces are so shiny and flawless. Do you sand and buff, glaze? I just do not understand how you get that beautiful shine. Thank you for sharing.
When it's a solid color of clay I press the clay to the side of the pasta machine, roll and the rotate the the clay, press against the side and repeat while I'm conditioning the clay until it's square.
Hi there, what if I want my leaf sections to be wider and not as thin? Would I just not flatten as much and not run it through the pasta machine? I’m sure if I don’t run it through the pasta machine, I will have unevenness throughout though...
I have tried this but every time I put my slice through the pasta machine it comes to very long and oblong, not at all square-ish like yours? Can you help please?

Love the canes!
Wonderful as always. Would you consider making more faux stones such as malachite?
I have a faux malachite tutorial right here. www.etsy.com/au/listing/663844451/faux-malachite-onyx-polymer-clay-pendant?ref=shop_home_active_34

I often sand and buff only or I add a layer of resin.
How do you get the clay to be rolled out into a perfect square like that? Mine never comes out like that
