The First Day of Metroline Operations on Route 481

Today is the First Day of Metroline London operating the Route 481. Route 481 now operated by Metroline Travel at their Brentford[AH] garage. The allocation is Gemini 3 B5LHs. The 481 runs between Kingston and Isleworth,West Middlesex Hospital via Teddington,Fullwell,Twickenham Tesco and Whitton. The Peak Veichle Requirement is 6. The frequency is Every 30-60 Minutes. And the length is 8 Miles[12 KM].
Route 481 commenced operation on 6 May 2006 between Kingston Cromwell Road Bus Station and West Middlesex Hospital via Kingston Bridge - Sandy Lane - Park Road - Teddington - Stanley Road - Sixth Cross Road - Hospital Bridge Road - Nelson Road - Kneller Road - Whitton Road - Rugby Road - Ivybridge Twickenham Tesco - Mogden Lane - Twickenham Road as a Monday to Saturday service. The route was initially operated by Travel London from their Fulwell (TF) garage using Plaxton Pointer 2 bodied Dennis Dart SLFs. The route was introduced to replace route 465between Kingston and Fulwell and withdrawn route R62.
On 21 May 2009, the route was included in the sale of Travel London to Abellio London.
On 7 May 2011, the route was retained by Abellio Londonwith brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Darts introduced.
On 7 May 2016, the route was retained by Abellio London with brand new Enviro 200 MMC bodied Alexander Dennis E20Ds introduced. At the same time, a Sunday service was introduced.
On 20 August 2018, an Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Dart was reintroduced alongside the existing Enviro 200 MMC bodied Alexander Dennis E20Ds.
On 27 June 2020, the route was converted to a full Enviro 200 MMC bodied Alexander Dennis E20D operation.
On 8 May 2021, the route passed to London Unitedoperating from their Fulwell (FW) garage and was converted to double deck operation using existing Wright Eclipse Gemini 3 bodied Volvo B5LHs.
On 11 May 2024, the route was passed to Metrolineoperating from their Brentford (AH) garage using existing Wright Eclipse Gemini 3 bodied Volvo B5LHs at the same time the PVR was increased to 6.
