- If you had to pick just one rowing exercise, what would you pick? The chest supported row would probably be our pick for its versatility, ease of set up, stability, strength adaptations, and all around awesomeness. When done well, it can be a very effective back strengthener and developer, working the lats, posterior delts, low trap, mid trap, upper traps, and more!
This video goes over the technique for the movement, showing common mistakes, best ways to set it up, and lots of other great tips!

Best video on this exercise. Thanks dawg
Wow! One of my favorite videos you’ve done so far! Really enjoyed the relaxed and conversationalist video format
Good detailed video!!
Great instructor and instruction
Great video! It’s really informative and enjoyable thoroughly. 👍
Great vid
Very well explained. Thank you. Didn't like the inclusion of the bands at the end, but still a very informative breakdown of an exercise I am eager to try.
Thanks man
amazing!
top video
What about extending your Chest farther out over the bench when using the barbell. You might be able to get full contraction
Just discovered your channel, really enjoyed the video, nicely explained 👍🏽
Awesome, thank you!
Sir safe exercises for back with lower back pain
Great video! I enjoy these CS rows a lot, but wonder if they are redundant with single-arm DB rows. What are the pros/cons of each? Trying to simplify my routine, so if I can eliminate one of these exercises that would be great. Thanks for your advice!
I personally think CS rows are much better. They’re more time efficient since they’re bilateral (but can also be done unilaterally if you want).
@@soonerborn7603 Thanks!
started adding chest supported barbell rows with a neutral grip, i have an accessory that makes this possible
how do you deal with chest/sternum/rib pain and/or difficulty breathing?
That was a very high first note
How do you deal with the high pressure on your chest when using heavy weight? It affects my breathing and fatigues me, causing the set to end earlier than it probably should.
Drop the weight
This vs Seal rows?
Going way pass the midline causes shoulder issues.
Hey man, what's the difference between incline rows and seal rows from a muscle targeting perspective?
seat rows target the middle back more
@@Kr1t13 any source?
💪🏽👍🏾
I'd be using this for more upper back than lats
I feel a really good burn in the lats if you tweak the movement a bit. Pulling to the waist while keeping the elbows mostly locked in one position feels really good on the lats!
@@soonerborn7603I think I feel my lats best around 30 degrees in the bench , and also a supinated grip with dumbbells. Closer to 45 degrees I feel my middle back and upper back better. I need to keep experimenting with angles etc
"More of your upper back than your lats" - Which is the whole point of rowing. The lats have pullups, pulldowns and pullovers.
Not true... youre right about pulldowns targeting lats, but like he said, it depends how you do it.
In saying that, this isn't the best demonstration of how to perform the movement. He has some good points though.
To the camaraman: Please stop moving around so much, its defeating the purpose of understanding the form. Two angles max per move, not 180 and up and down, its very confusing.
This is cool and all, but what is the best back exercise for WOMEN? None of these exercises are going to be happening.
seated cable rows
What difference does gender make lol
you couldn't be more wrong. do this one and woman up 😛
@@MoonLight-qw8sz breasts get in the way laying on the bench like that. They get squished and pushed to the side which is uncomfortable.
