Watching both you and some old episodes of Sharpe (my dad was a fan when it came on) has taught me a lot about the militaria of England and Canada. Your videos are good! I wish you'd do a video on the Pig War of 1859 and the San Jaun Islands border dispute, and the Royal Marine garrison that remained there until the dispute was settled in the 1870s. A hothead named Capt. Pickett was there, as well as an Army engineer who'd later write the book Robert's Rules of Order.

But you gotta admit, the Pig War of 1859 is an interesting topic of discussion! And the San Jaun islands should be a quick drive for you if you live in B.C.
I suspect the San Jaun island U.S. garrison circa 1861-1865 were quite happy with their assignment and the Royal Marienes too! I'm told they held wild parties, with female company.

They “Duffel Cut” the rifles to disguise them. Great historical content, well researched and the contributing experts added valuable detail and colour to the presentation. The Fenian raids did nothing to advance Irish independence, however, the sense of vulnerability and a spark of Canadian nationalism likely hastened the move toward confederation.
