- After spending almost a week in Worcester, pretty much bed-bound, thanks to the flu. We head onto the River Severn, as the levels are dropping and the Rivers gone on Yellow, so its safe to proceed, but not down to Glouster, as that section takes a lot longer to go on yellow, so to yet again kill more time, we decided to head up to Hawford and get onto the Droitwich Barge canal to do a ring, but at this point the River was still on winter hours, which meant it was closed Monday and Tuesday, so we booked to go through the lock Wednesday, but Tuesday we had a LOT of rain overnight and when we woke up we couldn't belive how much the River had risen by, we had to get the hell off the river right away, neadless to say, the river was on Red boards and we could no long proceed to Hawford...

It is beautiful due to all of the rain - trees leafing out, and grass so green and thick. I am very excited that our yards have all turned from dead brown to green, though not so lush as what you have, yet. Josh, you seem to walk from side to side of a lock very confidently.
I would not walk across the lock gates like that Nancy. Josh is used to it now and doesn't mind. And he doesn't want me doing it bless him 😊

I was following you when you got caught on the River Themes. I was so afraid for you guys as you were learning how to handle Olive, and to read all those warnings. It is hard to see you so congested, too. Our flue was more stomach issues and totally drained us of all strength for about 5 days. Of course, we are much older but no way could or would we have cruised with being sick. Bless you guys. I sure hope you are all past all of that by now. We seem to be past ours and hope we don’t get sick again for years. Yuck! Sure is concerning to see a boat sunk. How awful for that to happen, and seems like a lot of them this year. Do they come in with cranes and lift them out?

Hard to see you guys with those nasty coughs. Our flu did not have congestion like that. Ours was stomach kind, and absolutely drained every ounce of strength we had. No way could we have cruised as you did. Just getting food for 3 dogs, letting them out and back in, and we were in our recliner or bed sleeping. I was watching you guys 3 years ago when you got caught on the River Themes. That scared me to watch.
Cant stand whiskey. But I suppose it would make us all sleep😊
You poor things travelling and being so ill and the nasty cold weather throwing everything at you. Poor Andy driving wearing gloves and poor Josh getting soaked doing the locks. Those coughs sound really nasty and do hope they have gone by the time this blog was released. Not much better here today although for once the sun shone all day and no rain but still needing gloves when I went out. Let’s hope we have a nice summer. 🌻🌻🌻

Great vlog josh sadly with amounts of sunken and damaged boats this year im guessing that boat insurance is going to double next year sadly plus there has been so many boats that have been sold that are not fit for purpose since covid and claims risen

We have a campervan and Andy travels to work stays in the van then comes back. Friday to Sunday but just started doing Thursday as well. Maybe check out our channel Taylors aboard a campervan 😊
