  • Explore the many functionalities within the Femap 12 meshing toolbox!
This short tutorial explores how to prepare the solid geometry by first mid-surfacing then creating and assigning mesh attributes. Our goal was to take a solid piece of geometry and successfully simplify and model it with uniform quad elements by utilizing the meshing toolbox. Once the model is prepared, we dive into the meshing toolbox where we utilize feature removal to remove any rounds that may hinder a clean refined mesh. We then explore additional features in the Femap 12 meshing toolbox including mesh surface, mesh sizing, combined/composite curves, and geometry editing.
Femap delivers affordable high-performance FEA modeling for the engineering desktop. Femap is recognized as the world's leading CAD-independent, Windows-native, pre- and post- processor for advanced engineering finite element analysis. Interested in a FREE TRIAL? Click here:

I was curious, how would you transfer the mesh that has been created on the mid-surface to the full solid model to be able to run analysis of the solid?
