When you wish upon a star Makes no difference who you are Anything your heart desires Will come to you If your heart is in your dream No request is too extreme When you wish upon a star As dreamers do Fate is kind She brings to those to love The sweet fulfillment of Their secret longing Like a bolt out of the blue Fate steps in and sees you through When you wish upon a star Your dreams come true
The boat show "special" loaded with everything a live aboard should have...including air compressor for diving, A/C and all the other standard stuff is in the price of $940.000. This is not just another stripped down boat that costs another $500,000 just to be called "Home".
I LOVE this BOAT, obviously VERY well thought out and engineered, great layout, hi-tech, love the redundancy, backups, all the small touches that make it well thought out and pleasant, etc... However, cats like the Leopard are VERY nice and very reasonable priced cruising Sailboats, they get WHOLESALE mass quotes on parts, resin, etc... and pass the discounts on to the buyer. A first time Boat Maker like Xquisite, they started in 2014, and this model is their first 50, will be more expensive because they are NEW and dont have the buying power or reputation like Lagoon or Leopard. The higher price covers their high wholesale costs as well as the other companies supplying them parts don't know them as well. Also, I am concerned about parts availability, and fixing issues, there are ALWAYS issues on a new model. Most Brokers don't recommend this boat yet as it's not a proven company, usually need to wait until the 10th hull and see how their supply chain works. I know they provide premier service and will come to you to fix the problems all over the world, but I would NEED to see that proven for a few years, sounds great, but buyer beware...Hopefully Leopard and Lagoon will look at this design and incorporate a similar layout in their boats. Maybe in 3-5 years this model will be down to 500K and reachable by a larger group of people.
You made a mistake in your review. The windows are not laminated plexiglass. They are REAL glass with photoelectric membrane in between. You can change the opacity in the windows for privacy. I've only seen this on Mercedes sunroofs and high end homes. Either alternate or completely eliminate the background music playing in this video. It's too loud and monotonous.
Since it holds twice the amount of people, at twice the comfort, all of the time & travels the world in style & comfort, only a Roley Poley half a boat person, would ask a question like that. Or of course one that cannot afford it
Is this guy the worst boat reviewer on the web or what? Nothing about sails, rigging, performance, etc. He didn't point to a single winch. I'll never watch another of his "reviews".
Tried to watch this review, couldn't get past the dude with the mic, what is this the 10 o'clock news? Ugh.....

That nav/system display is mounted to horizontal and will aways be visible washed out by the sun. Way over priced with that charter cat interior. Seen smaller Leopards with more spacious and open cabin interiors.
The designs keep getting easier and easier to manage. Surely with all the sheets going into one compartment is just asking for trouble. I would only allow one from each side into the compartment. Each sheet needs its own compartment. When sailing the tails would need careful seperation in case of emergency or quick untangled access. The price just keeps jacking up and up. This prices these cats away from sailors towards financiers or white collar criminals, both of which have no real seagoing experience.
I love everything about this boat except that she's heavy and slow given that she has a little bit of a spaceship look to her and such a rigid boat it's really well-made. you should consider hydrofoil assisting that cat and Let Her Fly the technology exists one or two other catamaran companies are already applying it successfully. makes sense to make what you already have. faster without getting into crazy expenses or make and 80 footer and take the weight out of her she'll be fast bring in Consultants to help me with that if you have to. the Technology's viable and it's everywhere good luck I hope. I win the lottery cuz I would buy one for sure
Well they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I think it looks far too bulky and ugly... and all lines led to a couple of winches is just cheap and dangerous. On a multihull, mainsail and jib lines should have dedicated winches for safety and ease of handling.
By "lines" do you mean the sheets that are used to adjust the sails? Or the halyards used to raise and lower and reef the sails? Probably both. While dedicated winches is nice, if you have to get out on deck in really rough conditions to use them, you may reconsider. I think with really solid equipment it is possible to lead everything to a couple of nice electric winches with max safety and ease.
dehdeh55 Main sheet and jib sheet should not ever be run through jammers/clutches . Banks of jammers run to a single helm is just a cheap way of building a cat. Then it is sold to unsuspecting boat show goers as some sort of safety aspect of the design.... it's just crap IMHO
I admit I am not an expert who knows all about how jammers work in serious conditions. But if they work as designed, when it is really rough, I would prefer to adjust sails from the safe cockpit, rather than have to go out on deck.
I live on the Chesapeake Bay and I have been in super sweet conditions one minute and squalls out of nowhere the next. I have given the single-handed sailing concept a lot of thought. The main and jib should have dedicated winches for both sides. If you want to position these so that they can be managed at the helm, fine. So, that is 2 -3 dedicated for both port and starboard sides depending on whether you have a double head sail configuration. So 4 - 6 total and they should be substantial enough to handle anything that comes your way because it eventually will. Clutches are nice for line management, but when under a load the line should be at the ready, meaning it should be locked into a winch... Period end of story. Things happen fast out there and if you have to take the time to lock a clutch, unwind a line from a winch, find and rewind another line, then release the clutch, you're already in trouble. I have been in this situation before and I swore on my life I would never be in that situation ever again. It almost cost me the boat and possibly my life. Never again. You must have total control over the rigging. I've seen blocks ripped clean out of the deck like they weren't even fastened because sails were not managed properly. You think it can't happen to me right up until it does. To be "safe" to me, means having more than I think I will ever need in any given situation.
Over being ugly, seems pretty low to te water and full of too many gadgets.. even though I like the Amel like redundancy, this seem to have gone half the way so doesn't make sense and tell me it's light when you begin to fill the drawers XD
And the rainwater fillers just look inefficient compared to the L42 ones as an example, and who is going to bother to lift every single solar panel at least twice a day if you consider tourne keep the same heading when you pay that much for a boat?
I don't mind sacrificing a little speed for quality comfort and extra physical protection..6 year sail around the world is a need for a full home too carry everything and visiting family. Amazing kichen and refrigeration..It's a luxury cruising machine. More like a Rolls then a Ford. It works for me..I don't like moving fast at night..You can't see logs and containers..So doing more then 6 knots on any sailing vessel is dangerous at night..Strike a container at 9-12 knots at night and you better deploy the life raft..So speed isn't always so good..I want heavy duty, well built..With the CCP Virus everywhere, you could be sitting a dicks around the world.. Midis well be sitting in luxury during lockdowns..
When you wish upon a star
Makes no difference who you are
Anything your heart desires
Will come to you
If your heart is in your dream
No request is too extreme
When you wish upon a star
As dreamers do
Fate is kind
She brings to those to love
The sweet fulfillment of
Their secret longing
Like a bolt out of the blue
Fate steps in and sees you through
When you wish upon a star
Your dreams come true

I want to buy this and sail it around the world 🌎
Beautiful!
I hope one day...
Very nice review of this South African Cat.
You should review the new St Francis 50 mk2 as well. That is a real circumnavigation cat.
A review that doesn't show the cabins and the heads or at least the layout is not a good one.
Will they take an IOU for one of these......???????

For another 200 grand the Leopard 58 wins!
well done report, thx
WAIT - This is a Sailing boat, not a house! How well does she go upwind in various conditions? Does the bridge deck pound in heavy seas?
Asks the monohull sailor...
Since it holds twice the amount of people, at twice the comfort, all of the time & travels the world in style & comfort, only a Roley Poley half a boat person, would ask a question like that. Or of course one that cannot afford it
Gorgeous boat!
Do you every review any cats that aren’t house boats with sails?
Well what is the big USP that makes that cat an award winner?
This yacht is nearly (!) perfect, the only thing I am missing is daggerboard....
$1.2 come with everything needed for blue water?
khoa pham $1.3 with everything and even more!
Is this guy the worst boat reviewer on the web or what? Nothing about sails, rigging, performance, etc. He didn't point to a single winch. I'll never watch another of his "reviews".
How much is this catamaran in u.s. dollars and what kind of delivery time do you have to wait for something like this?
Hi, you can find prices and available launching dates on our website at www.xquisiteyachts.com
I hope shes have eneugh storage for more Diesel fuel. A 800l tank for 2x 80hp engines is not rly big.
It’s real glass in the salon not acrylic.
480p ? Not exquisite.
Wait? You got 480p? I'm jelly! 360p here...
This video was made possible and recorded by a potato...welcome to 1985
Nice video Passion Voile

Hi, you can find prices and available launching dates on our website at www.xquisiteyachts.com

Can you "buy" even one?!! If not, see Victor Van Dykes post above!
Nice sailboat although a little ass fat with that arch, anyways I'm switching to a MCY motor yacht.
boat looks like tis from the 70s

I was living it until he said the price.
dont quit youre day job
It looks to be a lot of boat for the money.
No windows that open only hatches!! Terrible ventilation!!

Nice but to slow an heavy
For 1.3 million the lay out of the interior is crap compared to a privilege of the same size.

A 50' tennis shoe is what it reminds me of. I hope it doesn't smell like one.
Lmao curved lamented curved acrylic glass just say it like it is plastic windshield

Yeah, that boat would be cool in 1982... Looks hideous to me.
All the naysayers will never ever own a boat like this, so stop responding to shit you'll never own!
To much 💲
Another cat to fat to sail in. At least it will function nicely at the dock!
