The fact that she got that far without getting any good gear is mad to me like it’s just basic stuff to upgrade as you play
she said she was using the synthesizer so my guess is, she was farming relics but instead of saving the relics and inspect every single one carefully, she went up and turned her legendary relics into fragments to make more relics, that's why tectone said why she has little trailblaze power but almost no relics... and somehow managed to discard many good relics because she was way too focused on one specific character.
she also said she played at least 2 to 4 hours of hsr per day.... that's more than enough time to farm, inspect and build any character....
i really don't know what she was thinking or doing while trying to build her characters.
I don't think she actually looked close enough at her relics, or else she would have at least noticed that the chest, the boots, the orbs and wires have percentages mainstat (excluding spd boots, but it still count), while the gloves and hat have flat, so its way better to max a piece with the right percentage mainstat but trash substat than maxing a gloves or a hat with good substats.

No, I mean for prioritize is STRATEGIZE so that you can clear more end game contents! Clearing more end game contents equals more Jades, more pulls, more oppurtunities to get strong characters!
Dude its not even about the strong units at this point have been spendign a lot of time on reddit when the new Swarm weekly boss dropped and the amount of threads where ppl complained that they cant bea the boss and they post their team of Blade SW Tingyun and Bronya and be like "omg i cant bea tthis boss".

You do know you don’t have to have the shiny new 5 star every patch, and if you do get them, they don’t have to be built immediately, it takes time
kafka is one of my favourite characters in the game, but I'm holding off on building her until a later date, when my second team is ready for moc. She is legit level 1. Getting that second team up is clearly the priority for me at the moment, even though there are so many other units that I want to build. I know it's not a good idea to do that with where I'm at
I like Silver Wolf and I just got it at the rerun. Previously, I was not ready to give her the necessary relics, but now I was able to do it. There's nothing wrong with waiting
I have a gepard, ruan mei, and dr ratio, and pela I need to build, but that all takes time, I’m trying to build them, but it takes time to get all the trace materials to get them to lvl 80 (I’m also trying to keep at least a 1500 4k exp books for anything in the future… it’s going to be a pain..)
I loved Dan Heng IB and farmed for his talent mats and art before he was released. I got him to lvl 80, almost max talent in everything in 3 days. I even pulled for my husband on Silver Wolf rerun cuz he loved her as a character and person whole, he so loves her.
True the only time when you should instant build a character is once you have 2 good teams to do moc with and can pre farm without struggling because those resources are not going into your teams
Even if she struggles to beat the bug, when you get the game over screen, it gives you some tips on how to clear it. Her relics are clearly lacking so the game over tip screen should say something like getting better relics or something. She's definitely not the only one to do this, but it really boggles my mind that she mindlessly tweeted about how she struggles to complete the quests but it was VERY clearly a skill issue here. I'm glad teccy is offering to help her from now on, she should have no issue clearing stuff now.

BUT, to be fair - bug IS a bitch of a boss. Took me several weeks to take him down. If you raise your world level too fast the story bosses outscale you big time, wich is what I did.

I'm sitting overcapped at tb65 while i keep building chars to have options. Wrecked that bug first try. Admittedly had a very strong team tho. Pela/Fu Xuan/Ruan Mei/Jingliu
The tweet screamed skill issue and she did too 😭 you have to be strategic, you can't just random everything. But she did say she doesn't have much time to play so I'm not surprised she had no idea what she was even doing. Comparing it to Genshin is even worse, it's not the same type of game

With the resources this player had, they could have legitimately had a DHIL hard carry team, a DOT kafka team (with options to swap for luka or Guin), and maybe even a 3rd PF focused team. Like damn man. Like no shame but like Prydwen does exist as Tectone said. And the builds work great.

Also, is it just me, or is prydwen’s tierlist a little skewed? (DHIL should be at least S+, same with SW, being we only have 2 debuffers, and tingyun, even if she is a 4 star, is our only Eng, recovery support, So idk. The builds tho arn’t that bad, burger is also a good alternative site for builds.)

Looking at an account like this at the level she was at is MADDENING. Especially when she said she plays 4 days a week
God I'm not just f2p, but got in about a month ago and got through all of the story in like 2 weeks. I didn't even realize you could get stuck on story quests. Like I have so much trouble with the Forgotten Hall and haven't even touched MoC, but the story is basically auto mode specifically because it feels like they just want casuals like her to get through it. It's crazy how a game as simple and accessible as this is still not enough for some people.
I think the problem comes up more with max equilibrium level. The story quests scale, and at the max level they assume you've invested in characters. So, if you don't have relics/traces, you might be underpowered.

@@Kango234 i had this issue when i hit level 55, i was not ready for the story after i increased the equilibrium level. I thought i would be able to lower it by a level like in genshin if i was struggling, which you cant. Ended up having to halt everything to gear up and level traces for 4 characters for about a week
I started in 1.4, and indeed it was pretty hard at the beginning. Starting 1.6 onward I was able to build @1 character per patch. Now in 2.2 I think I can build one per phase(as in lvl 80 and 10 9 9 talents). Of course, relic wise ... Just decent, with ocasional good relics. I plan to not pull for a while(maybe I will get LC/eidolons for characters I already have), so I can focus on relic farming

I fixed an account exactly like this a while ago, which took me three days. Then I log in every Sunday to see how she is doing. All her events are done. SU is done. She has 9 fully built characters. Still struggling will "abyss" cause she needs an ice, fire, or quantum DPS cause she skipped silver wolf. (And doesn't want to build the 4 stars)
Same, My friend wasn't able to play for a while but had zero idea how to build anybody and within a day the builds were like 50 times better, I try not to judge but holy
That's been a problem FOR YEARS in gaming. When people don't like a game or when they struggle, they immediately start to shit on the game and blame it. Like, you don't have to like it. You don't have to be good at it. But just because you're unhappy, DOES NOT MEAN THE GAME IS BAD. It's just not for you.
I'll also clarify I don't mean constructive criticism, I mean just the shit talk like "*Insert game here* sucks because I can't beat it"

You wanna know something funny? This reminds me of the time I got Luocha & had no idea how useful his special trace abilities would be. Now I’m slow healing other teammates in his field while I do simple basic attacks with any character. That is what happens when you pay at least a little bit of attention to a game that indirectly rewards it. And now I’m maxing out all traces, finding the right relics, and leveling up characters to help get the fullest experience with them.
The main thing you should do in this game as f2p is focus on ONE character at a time. Not in any condition (unless your new character is rly good) you should switch to building another. Only when you're done with all shit (maybe u can leave relics undone for some time) you switch to building another
No. You should be focusing on relics. Good stat lines are more important than fully leveled traces. You can transfer powerful relics between characters and is a good investment for your dps's and supps. I would also argue that when you get to the point of relic farming, you should be prioritizing using the daily 60 jades to refresh your stamina (spending the 50) for more chances of better relics or hell more calyx runs.
Lily Aquina really helped me focus on leveling my characters for an entire month as a bonus 60 stamina per day for an average of 30 days is equal to 1600 extra stamina worth of possible drops.
Don't be delusional and assume you'll win A 10 pull for the new character. They'll always cycle back when you can full clear all the content and are able to have an abundance of jades and have been saving.
@@runningtiger7624 honestly theres never a need to spend jades to refresh stamina, 240 a day is more than enough to have a well built account in only about a month
Tbh, I Disagree: build teams, build people who can be swapped, but also work well for another team comp, if you focus on only 1 chr at a time, it will take too long, and you arn’t going to have 2 comps for MoC or PF.
for me personally, i think you should focus on building TWO dps first. Farm for relics that are generally good or decent enough for damage output, like the musketeer and the space sealing sets. After those two dps are at least decently built, then you can focus on sustainers or buffers. Prioritize relics more than traces since relics can be given and share among a lot of other characters. Crit value sets can be given to the two dps (unless if one of it is kafka), and just slap the unused hp and def relics to your healers or supports. You can farm for traces after your team stats are decent enough like having 50/100 crit value for your dps or at least 4k hp on your healers.
That was exactly her problem though. She thought she had to max a chararacter to lvl 10 traces before she did another or did any equipment. You just need to get the basics done. Lvl 6 plus major traces done with lvl 12 gear. Lvl 8 traces for a dps. Once you get that done try to get the next character to that lvl and the nexy, then go back and get your dps gear to plus 15 and traces up to 9 or 10.
To be fair, I also max out every character. If I'm gonna use someone, their traces is one thing, but I'll always max out the level of my units. Then I'll max out the traces of characters in order of how much I like them. I have a solid 15+ characters fully leveled, and 6 maybe 8 fully traced. I've never felt like it was difficult to level them though. What I struggle with is relic farming.
True, I just max all the levels because seeing the progress slowly go up gives me the dopa hit. ( Note : I've maxed every character I have across 3 accounts and across all of them traces and relics use the biggest amount of energy out of everything. )
True relic farming is just pain, but mat farming just takes time.

Relic have different substats, and even then it wouldn't always upgrading the substats you wanted the most.
It's a never ending task if you really unlucky.
Giving those time and money to maxing a characters capacity is much better,
after that, using a mid relics would still makes the characters averagely good.
Lemme guess, do you refresh energy everyday? And buy BP all the time? Cause I started to play 1-2 weeks after launch and spend energy everyday, but I have only 2 characters 80/80, then half of roster 70/80 with rest in different stages. None has lvl10 talents, only 5888, but light cones are 80/80. Relic sets are majority +12 and just few sets are +15.
And even with this I struggle to have resourses, so not sure where did you got all these mats unless you swipe.

So all the resources can be given to characters that we already have instead.
I'm an F2P, never bought BP, but yes I always play whenever my energy is full.
All my characters now on full 80 max, the one that have max traces now only Seele, Kafka, Huohuo, and Jingliu.
The only Max Lightcone is Two 5* and four 4*, others around lvl 30.
I only farm relics for Jingliu, Seele and Kafka, other characters use average Relics with full 15lvl
It's not hard if you don't waste energy to farm relics and focus on 4-6 characters to make them useful in battle.
Other characters that I have on lvl 80, doesn't have relics equipped or lightcones, usually I swapped around what I have.
For example the Pela lightcone, I swapped with Pela, Kafka, or Nihility characters.
In the end you only make a party of 4, don't need to search for all characters, you can swapped relics and lightcones around, max stats is easily reachable.
Maybe Fuxuan is just a cheat code, because the story mode bug I accidentally went into with a lvl 3 Topaz, Tingyun, Fuxuan, and Kafka and I managed to beat it. Honestly it seems harder as a weekly boss.

Yea, Fu Xuan is good. After I finished the quest, I was confused when I see that the community said it takes them 3-5 times fighting that bug in the story
@@zasshu.7240 Yeah I just had her in the party to search for chests. But because I fought some bugs she got exp enough to level her up to 3. I want to build her, but I wanted to try getting Xeuyi up and test her out
Fu Xuan is just that broken. Anything that doesn't have the potential to one-shot your whole team will probably do nothing

When you sign into an account on a different device it pops up those notifications again even if you've cleared them already, so she probably does clear them when she gets on.
To be fair, I've been playing star rail almost everyday since launch and still had a lot of trouble beating the starcrusher bug boss fight.

The bug boss gets trivalized by Clara + Ruan Mei, the ads kill themselves whenever they attack Clara and the boss keeps spawning the ads.
Lol that's also what I did since the boss was clearly made for Argenti, but i didn't pull for him so I instead pulled out the "why are you hurting yourself" card with Clara
Yeah! Don't underestimate Clara, she's honestly a really good unit.
Ok but the fact that “leveling too many characters” is genuinely something that could jeopardize an account is a serious flaw in game design.
She is like THE epitome of a lazy gamer. HSR literally plays itself for the most part and she still complains about not having time lol. I have a full time job and easily manage to maintain more than 10 characters relatively decently.

I'm just pointing this out in case Tec didn't notice but the account owner has a lot of their characters' basic attack leveled up to 5/6 when most of them don't even need it leveled at all. That is so much resources wasted no wonder they're complaining about it.

Why would you increase your basic attack to the maximum level when your character always uses skills?. They think they can spam B.Atk to wait for the Skill CD when the game is Turn Base lol
@@Luxius. or just casuals or people who just wanna max things out to feel satisfied. I for one am the latter. Do I know that the character doesn't need their basic attacks? Yes. Do I know i'm wasting ressources? Yes. Does if feel satisfying seeing the traces all maxed out? Yes (atleast for me).
@@dey2x313 if you mean are levelling up *all* traces then that makes sense for satisfaction, but here what we see is that she prioritizes B. Attack above other important things. Like, you don't even need B. Attack on multiple characters, and here she is complaining about lack of resources? like what?.
The only time I raise B. Attack is on the side if the character needs it, or when I have excess resources that I get from events etc. (And also, most trace materials will be less useful in the future because new materials)

Why did my first reply mention Genshin players, because I often come across opinions that say something like "I stopped playing HSR because my character had to wait to take turns attacking, it sucks. And I can't even dodge unlike Genshin" when it was first released. Isn't it more accurate that he didn't get along with Turn Base from the start rather than saying it was an HSR problem?, Turn Base is not a button smashing game that requires spamming basic attacks 1000x

To be honest I do it with left over resources because I like seeing the maxed number. But it's not the first thing I do (plus basic attack doesn't actually need as many resources as skills)

Relatable af, my account is shit even with my chars max lvl, because I have no time for proper builds (especially for speed, after I build my Bronya E3 with huge speed, I give up for doing this again). Have no time for even beat bugs in SU (that's why Im doing only regular two times in weekend). I can't imagine my self if I was GI player, literally with no time for this crap.
Thing is that complaint isn't that relevant for general account strength. Time available to play DOES matter for events, story, Endgame content, and SU. It really doesn't take much time to do general account strengthening. Assuming you start the session with full Trailblaze power if you just set it to auto-battle at a calyx you should have all your trailblaze power AND dailies finished in about 10 minutes max. Maybe 15 minutes if you are using trailblaze power on relic farming (certainly not more than 20 minutes). Even just playing 1 hour total should be more than enough time to also check out a build guide, check out your relics, upgrade some for at least two or three characters. If your account is shite, but you know how to get the materials to fix it and are slowly gaining them, then that's fine. But to say your account is shite "because I have no time" is ridiculous. So long as you play an hour or two a week (actually, not even weekly, even if you just spend a handful of hours TOTAL on building your characters, since they won't get worse afterwards) you absolutely have more than enough time for this. It's a question of want. If you are limited by recourses or something since you claim to only really play 2 times a week (lots of wasted trailblaze power) then that is different, but you could also just get into a routine of logging on for 10 minutes per day to Calyx the otherwise wasted trailblaze power too.
@@rowanmales3430 it's not only about time. I'm using all energy almost always for farm. My personal problem is that there is so much need to me, and I can't focus on something. LC, traces, credits and the most painful part, relics part for every character. I think this is most relatable think for most players. When you getting shitty relic and you just can't up your stats above 50 CR 120 CD with 110 Speed (it's just example, usually one of these come more high while others going lower), it's painful. But I don't complain, I still able to clear MOC 8 with 3 stars and my fails just means that I can get higher in one day with more upgraded characters with team synergy. Thanks God this game doesn't require so much time for grinding per day.

I once saw someone complaining that they couldn't clear with Seele. I had to type a comment and tell them personally that the bug resists quantum damage.
Considering I had absolutely no problem doing everything with only three semi-built characters(Welt, Gepard, Blade), I... have never had a stronger urge to yoink her DHIL. And Ruan Mei.
I got the other ice character(the child) at 80 pity and it was painful beyond words.

Me after looking at everything: NO WONDER YOU CANT CLEAR THE LEVEL 80 STARCRUSHER BUG
As veteran f2p you just need to focus on your resources on 4 main units who will carry you through the farming that you're about to do....mainly dps, support,sub dps and sustain it focus on getting the character/weapon to a certain lvl and go for the for their talents/traces then go for the artifacts/items...items can give you raw stats and your talents can multiply those stats to deal dmg...
That's what I've done as someone that only started two and a half months ago. Focused on getting a "Core 4" as I'll call it leveled up to 80/80, good relics and built traces. Now I use those Core 4 to get resources for the others.

I mean that is a good strat for everyone f2p or whale in a game like this. That is also why Seele was such a good starting dps unit. She is great for both clearing mobs and for killing bosses (as proven by her performance in both PF and MoC). This person so obviously struggles with skill issues its kinda fucking hilarious if it also wasnt so evident MANY casuals are exactly the same

Ive just started honkai and i use these videos to figure out what NOT to do and i 100% feel her pain over that stupid bug 😭 it took me a month to finally beat it
How? If you have dr ratio you can auto battle it. I dont get it. I used him asta or pela and natasha and march 7. Success rate is about 8 runs out of 10.
On AUTO.
And i have just random telics,not farmed. No 5 star conuses

You can't even use the "some people have jobs" excuse with HSR because this game is so AFK autoplay friendly you can literally play this shit on your phone at work lmao
Honestly though, the game can be blamed for a bunch of things.
1. Materials are a grind to get
2. Trailblaze energy being as limited as it is despite it literally being needed for the sources of materials and relics
3. Relic RNG which results in agonizing grind
4. New characters are introduced like every month
It is by no means f2p friendly enough if it takes SEVERAL MONTHS to get a good amount of characters built.

Actually, scratch that, this kinda pissed me off. She has sustain meta units, dps meta units, DoT meta units, and is just failing. Meanwhile me, a late starter, has to use Lynx to try and clear this damn bug as my sustain/healer unit, with Dr.Ratio and Trailblazer being my DPSs'
Not beating the bug boss is like the baseline of any bad built account
it's kinda surprising when the update is released, so many players on Mihoyo community page are struggling with the bug boss while I cleared it with E0 Yanqing. I don't have Jingliu or DHIL. My Yanqing is "nicely" built as a coping mechanism because I lost 50:50 on the Jingliu banner.

@@TangoPiChances are they don’t build the character with the right elements for the bug. I remember how hard I struggled because none of the characters I was using can weakness break. Except for Gepard but he doesn’t count as far as I’m concerned.

I have like seven 5 stars, and I cannot do ANYTHING. stories I can't do, or can BARELY beat with food and buffs after seven times. I dont undersand what to do either, so honestly I understand this person way too well...

All she lacks is understanding her characters and what it takes to make them function. Prioritizing and building specific units is key.
I have to say she makes a very solid point , from a non gacha gamer perspective , the power level of your characters makes no sense in hoyo games.
I never played Genshin before so HSR was my first and I can relate ! Yes it's very hard to accept that farming permanent powers for your character is almost useless when getting random items is the key to make him strong.
It was also very hard to me to accept that stats are the main things. Like in any other games if you get the "full set" it's always better , while in HSR it's much much better to have separate items with huge stats than a full set with bad ones.
Lol Star Rail has been one of the least time consuming games. I have more trouble getting my Genshin stuff done than star rail lol
Edit: Ive watched a little bit more, WHERE DID ALL THE TRAILBLAZE POWER GO?! Having almost no relics is crazy did all of it go to getting xp
I leveled many to 80 also and it`s not THAT expensive. I`d say it probably capped too often XD

I have a second brick acc like this and it's also high lvl while being much worse cause I don't really have time for it and jump in randomly to try for units I decided to skip on my main. Some of it probably went to trace mats I agree with second commentator, but while I am also prioritising them there should have left still if playing regularly
@@Milady7021 actually yeah I guess dailies probably would get you to around there now. Ive been level 70 for a while but I was using every bit of trailblaze power I had to get there a while back. I guess by now you can reach 67 without using too much tb power and just doing your dailies consistently.

Has all the characters needed for a great account... but the management is so damn bad no one past TL 60 should have unleveled or still using purple relics. So much hyper investment in unnecessary stuff which bricked the accounts combat progress. So painful to look at huge skill issue

There's no issue using purple's as a stop-gap while you're waiting for the good golds, i'm trailblaze 66 and i still use purples some characters, mainly not fully invested supports and the like while i'm investing in other characters or trying to refine my dps.
I am struggling on moc 10 rn and can't get more than 57k on pure fiction 4 but i know that's just due to character investment cos i don't farm relics enough.
I can understand. My HSR account is also dogshit because all relics I farm end up with flat hp or flat defense. And it's a vicious circle: you waste all your ressources upgrading dogshit relics, your characters don't get stronger because of that, then you can't complete the endgame content that give you the best stuff (auto modeling resin from the new forgotten hall for example -- which you may eventually get, use and get some rubbish with flat stats anyway). It's really frustrating to see the difference between a good and a bad account is not skill, but luck.
I'm level 67 like this player and my account isn't as bad but not much better to be perfectly honest here. 🥲 Relic farming and upgrading them is really the absolute worst part of the game.
This makes me quite curious as to what Tectone would think of my account 👀

A tip for people struggling for credits, if you have at least 1 well built dps, then spam friend invites to strangers preferably low level people. I make about 20k+ credits a day from people using my Jing Liu. And I make a bunch of low level peoples farming easier. You may need to go through your friends list once every so often and unfriend the people who haven't played in a while, but it isn't that much work.
Players like this is why Genshin has no endgame…
Honestly this sounds more like, skill issues, most DEFINITELY time management issue's, reading issue's, and decisive issue's.
ALOT of her problems sound pretty cosmetic and simple to fix if she just took some time reading the skills, relics, team comp, abilities, and narrowing it down to four characters that she can use in a universal way in the game to get her where she wants to go.
I know it's easier said then done when you have a job/career, but it doesn't take hrs to do. That way she's not wasting anything and if she wants to pull for a new characters she has all the resources to do so and get them up to speed. Plus she doesn't have to pull for every 5 star character that comes out. Nobody even CC's tells people to do that unless their making bank.
Ngl the fact she complained about the game and doesnt play the game with impact in a evenly time is just wow...

As an f2p, one piece of advice I was given is to upgrade only the units I needed. Considering the drop rates weren't in my favor, I assumed I would need all the characters I got for free because I saw that weaknesses and roles came into play, so I assumed everyone would be useful at some point.
Then I started getting more characters, and I saw that some of those characters were better than ones I had. So I switched focus to the newer better character, and now I have this lesser characters with upgrades that won't be used anymore because I have a better character and since the drop rates on banners were not good to me, I can't plan on pulling new charcaters. So what do I do?
Sadly you can't really reverse the upgrades you already gave, so you just have to live with some half built characters that you won't use anymore. hopefully some of your relics are useable with other people. You can do it is all I can say.
My tip is have at least 2 characters of each element in a decent level. The ones you won't need should be revised and upgraded if necessary. Sometimes it will happen something like the herta thing with the new semanal boss. She was a bad character, now it's one of the best. I keep her kinda upgraded bc I follow the 2 elements tip, I had her and pela. My pela was amazing, now um being able to build herta (and fight the new boss bc I simple used a few pieces and stuff from peela for herta, till I have ir all for both of them). At least, this is what I do.

After watching this video it has helped me a lot for a returning player since the first week of launch, I came back during ruan Mei banner and I was lost and so far behind, but now I’ve caught up to the point I’m doing fairly well plus I was able to get Ruan Mei but on pity failed 50/50 to gepard 😑, but this video helped thanks teccy 😁
First, level up core characters to decent levels, preferably unlocking and activating the final bonus ability. Second, raise the traces, at least till all of them are just needing purples. Third, raise the light cone as far as you are comfortable with if they need the stats (e.g. bronya doesn't need stats at the beginning). Fourth, use random relics with the proper main stats (you can disregard the substats at this stage) and raise them to quickly increase battle potential, replacing them with proper ones once you're able to fight comfortably. Finally, set target for a team(s) to auto-run on resource nodes and raise them characters (and auto-farm whenever you can).
Raise the fixed values (levels of charcters, traces and light cones) and worry about variable values (relics rng) later.
Once the core team(s) is/are seasoned, pick your mvp character and focus on pushing them to their limits.
Follow these steps and there shouldn't be much difficulty in clearing it...

Most players ascent too early and then start to struggle. I heard it a lot that ppl struggle to defeat the bug. What I learned: dont ascent before you have all materials to max out your main team.

Played HSR since day 1, have 28 characters built, 12 of them for MoC 11/12 and Pure Fiction, never had a problem in advancing, focused on 1 character at the time, playing 5 minutes in the morning and 5 minutes in the night so my resin doesn't overcap, on the main events and story drop like 2 hrs for 2 days, HOW IS STAR RAIL HARD? It takes so little to get SO MUCH
Oh god... I feel bad for her. I think I play even less than her when it comes to star rail but I was able to get through the whole storyline because I knew not to go past universal equilibrium level 4. I just stayed in that level to upgrade my units which made things easy.

@5:57 Herta does not need to be built for Pure Fiction. That game mode makes up such a small percent of the overall game. I think she has many, many more pertinent problems she needs to prioritize fixing before worrying about that.
honestly even getting herta to like 50/80 crit will hard carry you in PF, it's not a lot of investment. but yeah off-set and blue relics are definitely one of the biggest issues with the account. like im a bit acoustic too with wanting to build characters for completionist sakes but, its not hard to see 7-10 traces cost EXPONENTIALLY more to level for a relatively small return and those resources are better spent elsewhere 😪
She's used to Genshin where they don't give you enough summons to pull faster than you can upgrade characters

She has the same problem most people with gacha addiction have where ooh new shiny thing and kinda forget that you can't progress far enough to build out new units until you have a fully built team. But it also looks like this may be her first turn-based game that requires you watch all these stats. I kinda suck at all that so I would have someone build my account for me too especially early game the shit is a lot lol

I've made the same mistake maxing out my basic attacks though im Coming from FGO
fate grand order rant below where you have 6 skills to level up 3 actives, and 3 passives which require Grinding bond or drawing copies to get servant coins to unlock though only one is regularly used (starting ULT Charge) and about 70% of a build is based on which CEs And.Supports you've gotten from the gatcha which only guarantees your first copy of a 5 star in 330 pulls (990 SQ or the rough equivalent of 158,400 Primogems/Genesis Crystals/stellar Jade's to Guarantee a single 5 star, theirs also no Soft pity to increase the chances of getting a 5 stars along with randomised CEs (Think Weapons but any character can use any weapon/lightcone but only a small handful out of the entire pool are considered Useful in the meta and you need to Roll Multiple of these non guaranteed CEs which can Regularly cost even more the it does to guarantee a 5 star and on top of this 5 stars all have NP Levels (think Constilations or Eidolons but much weaker) where its recomended you draw at least 2 Copies of a 5 star or any unit to guarantee their NP Charge can tank draining moves (NP Lv 2 the max guage increases to 200% and ar level 5 increaws to 300% (though with other Buffs like overcharge level up they can even reach aboce 500% via an overcharged Np Chain)
On top this you can Level up each units individual damage and HP By 2000 and increase each individual face card by 500 each.
And with all this you have a game that looks simple at a glance but is a headache to master
genshin player meets a game that wants you to adjust character builds to the content and not the other way around
This happened recently in one of our FB page, someone was asking for advice and we gave it to her but she was offended because we said she should level up her units, she says were lookin down on her......WHAT? some people just play games without even thinking how the game actually works.
this was my mistake on genshin impact too, my account there was shit, and now on star rail i rewrite those mistakes i did from genshin and gotten some characters strong in star rail when it first came out. Made me understand how to play a gacha game properly lol.
As a Gacha rolling addict, who just got caught up from pre 2.0 to end of 2.2, and was sitting at Equilibrium 4 to avoid level 80 for a while (Did the same thing with Genshin ngl), the "pretty shiny" desire to roll for new characters and scatterbrained desire to level all of them SUCKS. I myself have too many characters, too many teams I want to theorycraft/level, and boy howdy did I have to make an itemized priority list on order to work on my characters in, to force myself to stop xD
I'd also say I'd rather get the Tingyun/QQ LCs before I'd get the Screwllum SW Nihility one. I did make a decent Mistake early on of Leveling all my Characters to 60 (Which did cost me when it comes to Traces Especially) as I focused on Relics before doing Traces, and It took me getting Blade to open the Door to the Early floors of MOC & Getting Fu/Jingliu to 30 Star MOC.
Also to this person. AT LEAST PLAY UNTIL YOUR AT LEVEL 50! Rather then Level 30. As you get so many Credits, XP Books, & Aether's from LV 30 to LV 50 that their ain't an Excuse to at least LV 50 your Battlepass if you have bought it.

3:18 I also start with character level, lightcone level and traces, getting them all maxed out before even thinking about relics.
What I don’t understand is how she is struggling, since I didn’t farm a single relic until I were trailblaze level 64, and I could still beat some of memory of chaos with just two limited five star (Seele and Silver Wolf) and a few standard five stars (Yangqing, Bailu and Welt).
