- With the recent release of the documentary "Who Killed Malcolm X" on Netflix February 7 ,2020. The information shared by Imam Mohammed during his interview with Gil Noble in 1992 is extremely relevant and perhaps even more important now than it was in 1992.
Malcolm's story is like so many who find the man they follow is only a man. His error was sharing his thoughts openly. RIP Malcolm.
First of all he was being attacked and threatened with death by the nation of Islam. Before he ever opened his mouth about Elijah.

It was only once he came to the sobering realization that he was caught in a classic scenario of being stuck between a proverbial "Rock and Hard Place" (damned if he does damned if he don't) that he said any thing whatsoever...
meaning, by that time his fate was already sealed so he may as well just TELL THE TRUTH (which of course he was known for) since his words would be that part of him - loving Wife Betty and daughters not withstanding - to at least "live on", even though he "the physical Man" would not.
So you're saying Malcolm made a mistake in calling a spade a spade??? lol, Totally against who Malcolm was. Elijah made a fool of him, as well as all the other ministers who helped enlarge his sect. He used them for their talent so HE could live a certain lifestyle meanwhile leaving them with nothing. Malcolm spoke truth to power no matter who it was, and Elijah Muhammad was no exception. He kept up a facade and Malcolm simply exposed him like he deserved to be exposed.

One of the greatest Muslim leaders in 20th century. America lost a scholar and a wise and courageous man who positively impacted so many Muslim Americans. May Allah Bless his soul.

The lesson everyone can learn from that tragic series of events is this. Without exception, do not idolize any person who lived in the past, currently exists in the present, or will exist in the future. Each individual should accept complete responsibility for his or her own final destination while simultaneously not encroaching on other people's opportunity to do the same thing.
Moral of the story: Trust NO man. Only Allah. Man is too fickle, too contradictory, and too unpredictable. He has the propensity to betray his tongue.

You made a wildly inaccurate comment about the FBI's findings on the NOI founder stating that the FBI did not determine that Ford and Fard was the same person. Again your comment was wildly inaccurate. As I stated the FBI determined very early in their investigation that the names belonged to the same person. No disrespect against a brother who has passed on, but this is one of the greatest examples of misleading statements and truth mixed with falsehood I've seen. The Imam was a great brother, but he had a love/hate relationship with his father because of the domestic life of his father. Those of you who don't really understand Muslims, especially REVERETS to Islam here in this country in the history of the Nation. He was hurt because of the pain of his mother, sister Clara Muhammad. The Honorable Elijah Muhammad once put her out, HIS OWN WIFE, for ninety days for saying she hated the part in the Qur'an that talks about the wives of Muhammad. The Imam never accepted the wives of his father, nor his siblings from those women. He fed the doubt in Malcolm. And he actually sat here and told us that the FBI advised him to go back to the Nation...to DO WHAT? But for any INTELLIGENT person, especially a Muslim, to think or believe that Malcolm, as sharp and well-versed of a religious thinker that he was would become disillusioned because he learned that the Honorable Elijah Muhammad had six wives who were young women but then go and accept The Prophet Muhammad of Arabia who had NINE wives, one of whom was a pre-teen, though he didn't have relations with her until she was of age, is RIDICULOUS. You discredit Malcolm when you suggest this. There's so much more to be said about this, but I would be writing all day.
Why is this interview so severly edited. Malcolm was in Mecca in 1959. He was sent there by Mr muhammad. It's rarely discussed. Malcolm was also involved with evelyn during the 50s. She was one of the secretaries. So was Evelyn a teenager. Was she a teen when malcolm dealt with her. Did malcolm lie about that. Why would he do something like that. Were the other women really teenagers

Funny though he was the one that told Malcolm about his father and spent years hiding his hand. I never thought Elijah Jr. wasn't the family member that hated Malcolm. There is a 1964 radio interview with him reading a letter that Malcolm sent to him from Mecca; thanking him for sharing that information on his father's domestic life. This was and still is a sad chapter to discuss.

Wallace set Malcolm up! He knew Malcolm’s personality. He knew Malcolm was not only a truth-teller, but was also a moral man who was a straight arrow that was dedicated to what he was teaching and telling others to believe. Knowing Malcolm was serious about his commitment to Islam and his moral compass, he decided to Tell Malcolm about the babies from the various teenagers. The truth is Wallace sought to wage war on the NOI by completely dismantling its teachings in attempt to restructure it. So he used Malcolm to do it. He knew Malcolm was going to let the cat out of bag using America’s media. But instead Wallace’s plan failed and Malcolm was killed, so he had to run to his fathers for protection from the wolves who was hunting him.
Never thought of that great insight. He also made sure that he was not the leader of the nation if Malcolm was alive who knows how to have turned out.

Wallace also knew Malcolm was a man of integrity who spoke his mind. You saw Malcolm’s interview with Mike Wallace. Have you asked yourself why Wallace didn’t publicly out his Father? Instead he put the battery in Malcolm’s back and the gossip in his ear to do it. And when Minister Jeremiah sent the goons after him and Minister Farrakhan, they both disappeared from the NOI for a few years until things cooled off.
