- Hello folks, welcome to Baldur's Gate 3! This game is absolutely everywhere right now, and apparently it's one of the most ambitious titles to come out in recent memory! Unfortunately this is my first RPG experience, so it's gonna be pretty brutal.

Playing a warlock I feel like is the same as me going to the icecream store. It's all icecream, but for some reason I always want to check out all the flavors for 15mins before deciding to get the same flavor I always do. Do I want to use another spell? *spends time reading all of them* nah, EB away.

That fight is actually stupidly difficult for its level, that 'paladin' will unload every smite he has and 1 shot practically anyone except barbarians and fighters.
If you have expiditious retreat, you can make it pretty simple as a spellcaster by constantly dashing out of reach.
A bit cheesy, but what I did in my no party members run.
Tip from someone who also doesn’t play a lot of rpgs! You don’t have to heal a downed teammate with spells, if you have another character within movement distance that character can help the downed teammate up (you should see the option if you hover your cursor over the downed teammate)
i usually have shadowheart (or my character if i've got that spell) use healing word since that still lets her make an attack :D
Yes! More Baldur's Gate! This has to be one of my favorites series so far, I've rewatched the vods a couple of times already
the way these are edited has successfully finally been the FIRST TIME i can watch an entire baldur's gate video without being bored lmfao. i like the game a lot in concept, it's just a little much
Chats like "theres only one game with two words that start with E and Q 😒" as if thats SUCH a big help and you must know it now even if you've never heard of it before... like did they want you to guess the name or something??
You will replay 2-3 30 minute battles and learn to hit F5 to save.
There is no wrong way to play Baldur's Gate 3.

I absolutely love this game, so I've watched a number of videos of people playing it. And none of them have made me laugh like this video did.
I found this channel through Stardew, but these videos are probably my favorites.

I've done three full playthroughs now and a couple of multiplayer ones, the thing I love the most about this game is that you had loads of dialogue options I completely missed out on, on all of my playthroughs, and characters (including the animals) I haven't come across yet.
18:24 that's why I always save where I am before loading an older save. Rather be stuck up a tree than back at the house still lookin at it

Well, trying to hit enemies with INT based fire bolt while using WIS based class like cleric would for sure leave pure impression of any cleric.
Also, sacred flame also sucks. Guiding bolt, and healing, and control spells, and guidance, oh guidance, however... support class is so supportive xD
Same with weapons being versatile or not, finesse, etc.
I used to play Everquest (EQ). In fact, I used to play it, like, 12 hours a day over the summer. That game is so old and random even iiii went, "Everquest.....? Girl what?"

24:35 If this becomes too much of a problem you can press O to go into a top-down view to make targeting in big bunches easier.
I knew nothing about D&D hoing into this game and I also just do terrible in fights so you arent alone. There's alot to learn kn this game.

I so want to play this gave but I've never done a turn based RPG game and, actually, I'm not sure I've every played this kind of game (says the person who just starting gaming this year and is in her 50s lol) BUT it's fun to watch everyone else play :)
At least in this sort of game you (usually!) have plenty of time to think about your choices and options. On the flip side there are a LOT of options. There's also a bit of a learning curve just to know to play it. Watching youtubers can be a good way of learning some of the mechanics.

So, Warlock/Bard builds have a lot of good stuff going for them. And while it's not entirely important to choose which one you level more, you'd probably get the most out of a Warlock 8/Bard 4 split with the Pact of the Blade at your 3rd Warlock level. This will get you three Feats/ASIs, and allow you to use Charisma for almost everything.

Tbh that fake paladin fight wasn’t easy at that level. I went down to easy mode for a couple days and I got a little pop up saying it was an unbalanced fight when I went in. I wouldn’t have managed it if I wasn’t on easy, they were like 2 levels higher

I assume someone already mentioned in the comments by now, but the reason Shadowheart sucks at firebolt, is because the hit chance on it is INT based. Unless you want to respec her for INT, I'd suggest avoiding it.
high elves and high half-elves get a wizard cantrip. if only they got more fitting cantrips than fire bolt... astarion is by default an arcane trickster, minor illusion would be perfect to have by default

No offense, but how do you not find Astarion? Even a non-rpg player should usually explore the map completely, but he is literally on the non-scary river path and not the crashed airship burning path!!!
Edit: Sorry again I am just surprised you don’t get a second chance of finding him like some other companions.
in my first playthrough i ended up meeting astarion and wyll 10 hours in (and i think i might've just skipped out on karlach on that one since i was really wanting to check out the underdark) (i started like 10 playthroughs after finishing my first one and i always make sure to stop by her now)
both were the biggest facepalm moments for me i wonder how therm will react if he eventually meets them

Dude there is no "wrong" way to play bg3, you don't need to mun max every thing, just fucking around and you still somehow push through it all, just a bit harder than necessary

Gut does not bring her back, even if you don’t kill Gut. So Sazza’s faith is misplaced, but it plays into her character)

If you’re enjoying the game, you’re playing the game properly. This game is a lot for someone who doesn’t have any RPG/DnD experience. I love DnD and RPGs and I still started 4 characters before I was happy😂

Therm’s been done with wobbledogs since the halloween update, he doesn’t have fun playing it anymore. Also, they have officially stopped adding major updates to the game
