    Hyper Dyne Side Arms (サイドアーム) is a 1986 side-scrolling shoot-'em-up arcade game developed by Capcom. The player takes control of a flying mecha suit who must battle an alien army. Side Arms uses a two-directional attacking system similarly to Capcom's previous shoot-'em-up Section Z.
    Plot
    An evil alien empire known as the Bozon are launching a full-scale attack on Earth. As either Lt. Henry or Sgt. Sanders, the player must pilot a giant space mecha known as a "Mobilsuit" to defeat the aliens. Up to two players can play simultaneously.

    The Before Christ mode in the PC Engine CD-ROM2 version is different in many areas compared to the normal mode. Different colors, sprites, etc. It would've been more appropriate to show that mode rather than Normal since Normal is more similar to the HuCard version than BC is. :)

    If that plot is accurate and the name of the player mech is Mobilsuit, then the fact that capcom "borrowed" the images of the Zeon Zaku II and the Z'Gok at the minimum is even more ironic as the Zaku II, clearly seen at 2:20, and Z'Gok as seen at 1:29 are both Mobile Suits from the original Mobile Suit Gundam, where for reference all the single pilot mecha in the universe are all called Mobile Suits.

    • @Asterion608
      @Asterion608 4 года назад

      And ironically, the Spectrum managed one of the most accurate conversions for the 8-bit computers despite being the weakest hardware. Goes to show how much more important is to have good developers and a better balanced specs, over just hardware power.
