Appalachian Trail Day 25 - World Records with Captain Morgan

Special day that I have been waiting for. I have been following along Kristian Morgan's #FKT fastest known time attempt for the NOBO record. We met in Hot Springs, North Carolina and so I knew his whereabouts and learned about his speed attempt and story. Woke up early this morning to coyotes yipping and howling. Laid in the tent for a while to wait out the rain storm and left around 9. Was booking it, easy terrain, ended up getting 14 miles around 2pm where I sat and enjoyed a view and had some snacks. That's where Kristian caught up to me. He said I could walk with him because he was injured so we ended up hiking and talking for 6 miles, it was super fun to be a part of. We probably went 3-4 mph the whole time. We departed ways at the Friendship Shelter where I thought there was a shower but apparently it was broken :( at least I got to use the bathroom and get a candy from the Visitors Center. Kept on pushing along and made it to Chatfield Memorial Shelter where I stayed in the Shelter next to Minion and Rocky and Moonshine and another older gal. Solid Day for the books!
