Again, I swear I'm not stalking you. Always happy to hear requests for content as well as I often can't think of things to do! (don't say AOVs - they're coming I just need time!)
In the 2015 Pixels Movie, cubes appear that I could not yet simulate in Renderman. They look like Sub Surface Scattering with sel illumination but if you look at the google images of this movie you will find it more complex than a simple SSS. They have darkened quivering and the middle of each face is becoming clear. And this I am not even talking about the effects of edges that appear with glow after they disappear. But I figured it would have been done with animated textures or something more complex as a script for this to happen. I wonder if you could at least tell me how to make a material like this self-illumination SSS that is close to the movie Pixels 2015
Hi, Michael. I couldn't get the motion blur to show smooth images. Granular images are always displayed in the Maya rendering with the Renderman. Do you have the numbers to put there in the settings so that it is optimized to appear a smooth motion blur?
Motion blur in the render always requires a very high sample rate to remove noise, if this is an animation you should consider doing this in post with a vector motion blur AOV. If you must do it in the render, without seeing the render, I'd guess you'd have to go over 1024 samples and possibly lower your variance as well. At higher resolutions expect very long render times per frame.
Hi again, for some reason i was trying to follow through the tutorial but when i batch render the project other than the masterLayer every other layers doesnt get denoised or the filtered version. Any idea to what i might be missing? Yes i do know i could manually drag and open the files using denoise.exe as shown in the denoise tutorial; but it is quite an inconvenient approach. Thx in advance.
for some reason everytime i am looking up something you just upload it
thank you!

Hoe do I attach the PxrMeshLight to a certain texture or material?
I was going to ask you if you are part of the Pixar company. Because I see you have solid knowledge of Renderman.
Pixar has been kind enough to feature my channel on their website but no I don't work for them.
