Gah, I love David Tennant sooo much. I'll watch just about anything he's in tbh; he's easily my favorite actor. I have to say, though, I feel like Crowley might actually be the most Doctor-like character he's played since he was the Doctor. Crowley has a harsher edge, of course, a harder set in the way he holds his jaw and more swagger in his walk -- because David Tennant is excellent at distinguishing his characters -- but Crowley still has that lighthearted, sassy flair and mischief that the Doctor has. I feel like both the Doctor and Crowley would resent the suggestion that they're similar, and I don't know that they'd get on, but if they somehow wound up saving the world together, they'd make quite a team.
As other David Tennant characters go, though, I still think Campbell Bain from Takin' Over the Asylum would have to be my top pick for best Doctor Who companion. Oh gosh, now I'm imagining Campbell and Crowley making mischief together... Hmm...
Sorry, I'm just having a moment in the David Tennant multiverse, haha :)
