Trisha Paytas had a falling out of sorts with Shane Dawson and Ryland due to their support of Jeffree Star who is known for being cruel to those around him. Hair by Jay uploaded a video in which he said terrible things towards Trisha. Later, he released a half-hearted apology and received backlash. Ryland went live on his podcast and offered little concern for his "close friend" Trisha. I wanted to observe it through the lens of nonverbal communication in order to hopefully shed light on a messy conflict.

i think ryland feels no true guilt cause on his mind he did not do anything against trisha, but fails to see that not doing anything is just as bad. is like trisha were pushed on a pool by jeffree and he stares her as she drowns. he did not push her, but is letting her drown at the same time by not doing anything, and trisha is yelling for help and he ignores her calling.

That having the metaphorical scissors in ur back pocket isn’t always a bad thing. (Which some have told me it is.) I made the right decision in cutting this person out of my life. Because I was struggling with that decision for about a year now. I’m happier without all their toxic self serving bullshit in my life. I don’t have any regrets now on my decision. So thank you.

I got a feeling that ryland and trisha is not good friends. Trisha may see him as a close friend but ryland didnt want to be friends with her but he has to because trisha befriended shane.
Sooo when this all happens, ryland didnt know what to do. He didnt want to upset shane and jeffree also maybe he thinks trisha is overreacting as usual.

I feel like Jay was projecting onto Trisha and that's why he ended up attacking her for being "unappreciative" of what Jeffree paid for during the trip. Trisha explained that she and Jay would get bullied a lot by Jeffree, such as telling Jay to pick up a french fry off the floor and eat it, or make him sit in the back of the car. But because Trisha actually had the self-respect to remove herself from that toxic situation, Jay probably felt like he had to justify staying with Jeffree. It was just to make himself feel better because he doesn't have the strength to do what she did.

I grew up in a very toxic household (I’ll spare the details), but about a year ago, I was going through a rough patch and I was talking to a friend about it... a TRUE friend. And I started saying something about “that’s all I know. That’s how I grew up. That’s how I know how to deal with it.” And my friend stopped me and said something I’ll never forget. She said “You can’t blame your childhood trauma for the way you’re behaving 20 years later. At some point, you need to put the past to bed and overcome it.”
THAT is a true friend. And what she said was the brutal truth. Your toxic past does not serve as an excuse for your behavior indefinitely. I realized I was making excuses and needed to stop. So now, when I see other adults using their rough past as an excuse for their toxic behaviors, it’s more clear to me. It takes work but people CAN get better.

it probably varies much like other NT people. as an autistic i emote and talk with my hands a ton and really use as much of my nv as i can partially because i am also largely nonverbal and actually physically cannot control/open my jaw at times. (and yet somehow being the most over exaggerated nv in the world no one can understand the simple "i dont want to talk" taken to comical levels. lmao but autistics cant communicate at all im glad stereotypes are always right (not a dig at you)) but ive also known some other autistics who tend to keep stiffer language. they arent as loose and floppy. theres no real specific language to us we all speak our own ways. and part of it does lend to whether its a verbal or nonverbal autistic on the communication scale. i dont have adhd so i dont want to say about their experiences but from what i know from the little interaction ive had with that community that its a similar thing. everyones different. just learning how the specific person shows discomfort is probably the best approach since even allistics/NTs also can show that differently.

I’m pretty confident that the reason he’s shrugging and coming off so insecure when he’s talking about loving Trisha/putting her over the wig guy, is that Ryland knows that he’s (intentionally) missing the point by saying that.
Of course he puts Trish over a stranger. The question is, does he put Trish over Jeffry? He either doesn’t want to have to pick, or the answer is no. So he tries to avoid the ultimatum altogether by pretending he doesn’t get it.
The issue is the wig guy was a mouthpiece for what Jeffry said and did. Wig guy confirmed that the “issue” was real, and thus - Ryland/Shane either has to stand up for Trish against Jeff, or they have to condone what Jeff did. And that’s not so easy, when they want to have both on their side.
So Ryland pretends he doesn’t get it, dismisses it as “of course I don’t supposed what wig guy said”, and shows through body language that he knows damn well what he’s trying to get away with.

Can we just remind ourselves that Trisha told Shane and Ryland about this at the time of the event and throughout the last year? Not only that, but Ryland saying to keep it off the Internet is hilarious because she tried to keep it off of here but they weren't doing anything to help her - we are all in charge of our own mental health and I fully believe in that, but she's been having therapy and some support from them (actions not words) whilst she was going through this would have been a much better way to handle it. So actually by bringing it to the Internet, she finally found out what her best friend is really like.
Most of the time I will agree that things should be handled away from the Internet, but in this scenario Trisha tried and got no where and honestly making it public helped a lot of us out with seeing people's true colours (we have absolutely no right to pretend like we know everyone, so when I say she's letting us see, I'm talking about the fact that people were still buying merch or supporting someone publicly despite the mountain of evidential shit they've done, and many of these people are young and impressionable).

@@monimoo88 only thing is, no one is asking for them to be held accountable for Jeffree's actions, its the lack of their loyalty to someone they claimed to be best friends with when it was quite clearly a shitty thing to do. If my friend told me that friend no.2 had done half the shit Jeffree did on that trip, sure I might wait to see what friend no.2 said about it, but if they text my other friend to say sorry for everything that happened that would solidify that they're owning up to it and show me that what my friend had said they'd done was true.
As for Shane sticking up for Trisha and people telling him not to, that's because in those moments she did do wrong and no one could understand why he would stick up for her or keep associating himself with her. But the one time she did nothing wrong and was a victim of disgusting actions, he chose to stick by someone else responsible for those actions? Just seems weird and I understand why people have changed their minds... If he's going to continue associating with her then the least he could do is stick up for her when it's *actually* needed.
Don't get me wrong, some of the stuff she's come out with has made me seriously question why she still has a platform, but in a situation where she's been wronged by not only the person doing those things to her, but by her best friend who she was blindly loyal to, I can't ignore that she is the victim in this 🤷🏼‍♀️

He’ll still have clients. Romeo Lacoste a popular RUclipsr & tattoo artist supposedly ruined his career when he got called out for being a child predator, I say supposedly because tons of people still work with him even though his true colors have been shown to the world, so trust me the sad truth is that Jay will still have a career & clients, over time he’ll get back to being as popular as he was, it’s sad but true, celebrities (ever c & d list ones) tend to make comebacks & don’t have to deal with consequences for long because that’s what comes with the power & connections of being a celebrity, if people were able to get over Romeo Lacoste messing with literal children than they’ll very much get over & continue to work with Jay saying a few harsh words, it’s sad, but it’s the truth & if you just look at all the horrid shit that goes on in the Hollywood/celebrity world & how many of those horrible people who’ve done disgusting things still have careers you’ll see it’s a never ending cycle & that all these people do fine & continue to have careers as long as they choose to not walk away from the limelight.

@ADOGSWORLD - I disagree in this case. Not because you're wrong in general - Celebrities do get away with things no one else would- but because of the nature of what Jay did.
What he did was cruel and disgusting, but it was also a betrayal of client trust. Celebrities are all about image and Jay literally ripped apart Trisha's image.
Everything else aside, it was tantamount to posting an unflattering photo of an actress, who banks on being a sex symbol, sweaty and without makeup.THAT'S betrayal that they won't risk or forgive.

Well in reading anyone, you always have to establish a baseline of their usual body language and then base your reading off of any deviations from their baseline. This means that someone who naturally fidgets a lot or has difficulty maintaining eye contact in regular conversations would be read completely different to someone who is naturally very still and relaxed during conversations. They would also probably take into account the type of fidgeting and maybe which direction you tend to look when not maintaining eye contact etc.
I'm not a professional on this at all. This is just what I have gathered from watching a lot of these types of videos so I may be incorrect.

Also the implying that Trish may be using drugs or mentally ill was SO Unnecessary and unfair because those two speculations could literally apply to any of them. Idk i just think he was off on this whole situation and with it having so many players it becomes to complex & sloppy oh and hypocritical and his professionalism/expertise starts slipping off.........ahhhh and also to preachy....sooooo yea if you like body language content maybe try Derek van sheik he does really good at breaking down his readings and very easy on the eyes to lol....

Jeffrey publicly defended HairByJay before allegedly firing him. Jay, in his livestream, confirmed all of Trisha's allegations against Jeffrey (that all of the things he said in the livestream is stuff that Jeffrey has already said to Trisha).
Trisha and Shane have been friends for 10+ years, and she has been very publicly and aggressively defending Shane through all of his controversies. After his lack of defending her against Jeffrey and Jay, Trisha blocked both Shane and Ryland, and that's how they became publicly involved. To this day, none of them have defended her against Jeffrey, who they are still friends with online and offline.
