Props to you for using the legitimate hardware. This is a really great game, even if it is before my time. It really deserves an HD remake with an arranged soundtrack.

Played this at one of the Game Over stores in Austin, TX a couple years ago, first time in about 20 years I finally got to play a cabinet of Sunset Riders again, really felt damned good. The machine was set to free play so I did one loop and then got off the machine.
When I lived in Harborne there was a fish and chip shop and they had this game and Street Fighter on those big video arcade game machines and I was a child then, when I first saw other people playing this game and Street Fighter both of the games got my attention espiecially when the stampede bits came on and the horse riding levels and then I started playing it when my Parents and I went to the fish and chip shop, I think this is a fantastic game and I am a Cancerian and it takes a lot to please me, I am not pleased with just any old rubbish.
i remember playing the 4 player version at Magic Kingdom back in 1995 or 96. i have also played the 2 player version though in 2006 when they had it at Patrick AFB in florida (which i often played as Cormano).
Seriously? These main characters can get killed by being dove (like RIch Rose did) into and hit with a whip (like El Greco)? Those things wouldn't kill you...really hurt, yes; but you wouldn't die instantly from one hit of those things. You might as well kill these guys easily with one shot of a pea shooter!
I'll make the exception with the bosses when it comes to how many hits would kill them. Besides, being killed by a bullet make a LOT more sense than being killed by being hit by a whip.

Chief Scalpem is with big difference the hardest boss in this game as the same happens in Gun Smoke,Wolf Chief and Wingate Family were the strongest.
