- As part of the original team that built the 227mph record-breaking Skoda Octavia vRS, we were so pleased when Skoda UK asked us to carry out some maintenance on it.
In this video, REP's Ricky Elder shows us around the car and explains how he helped to set a speed record at Bonneville Speed Week with Skoda UK and evo magazine.

Great to see the car again and shame we don’t do stuff like this anymore at VWG. Love the charger in the background, nice to know the story on that monster.
Just came across this. Down under we have salt lake racing as well - Lake Gairdner in South Australia. Spent 3 days there - wonderful experience - supercharged Honda 50 that did well over 100 mph, a madman with a LS engine sideways in a bike frame, did 148mph first time out - no fairing. All sorts of stuff. Great atmosphere - would love to get to Bonneville :-) Thanks for this - excellent story, well told

Loved reading the story in EVO, like you say it is all the random shit that occurs that makes the memories about something like this. I will have to dig out the mag and re-read the article again. Thanks for taking the time to share more of the back story on such a brilliant achievement.

Seriously though, I only found this channel in the last week or so. Absolutely love it - the geeky tech stuff is right up my street. All well and good seeing vids of drag strips and burning rubber but for me it's all about the work that goes into it. Keep up the good work and if I ever get an R8 or Lambo, then it's defo coming to your place 👍🏻

Seeing the longitudenal strakes on the roof gave me a new perspective on all the little appendages on F1 cars. I guess the aerodynamic forces at 200 mph are enormous. I'm going to stop bagging Red Bull's whinging about a few mm on Mercedes' rear wing from now.

The hanger at Wendover where you did work on the car is famous.Its where the crew of the Enola Gay flew from doing all their training for dropping the Atomic bomb's on Japan that ended WW2.

Yea sir! It’s because RS was already a brand in the UK with Ford so couldn’t be used!
