- Sir Ian McKellen will not appear when the run of "Player Kings" resumes in the West End after his fall from the stage.
The veteran actor, 85, was performing at London's Noel Coward Theatre when he lost his footing in a fight scene.
Mr McKellen’s understudy will fill in for him for the final London dates of the show while he recovers.

Glad to hear Gandalf is ok.
I think he should take the time he needs including cancelling his remaining dates this season. Falling even from a normal standing height at 85 years of age is no joke, let alone off a stage. He's lucky he didn't break a hip or have a serious head injury.
Here's to a full and speedy recovery, Sir Ian! Take some time for yourself.

Don’t worry he’ll be back on stage after the fall
Rock on Son 💚🤘
Wonder what he really did to earn a Knighthood?
It's a rougues gallery
Prayers for Sir Ian from this American
Oh no, I had tickets for that
😂
Wonderful actor. In "Gods and Monsters" he was splendid. I wish him a speedy recovery. It must be great to have the opportunity to see him on stage. 🙌
Hes a workaholic. It will do him good to have time off.
Honestly. This guy never stops.
