Great series. Wish you had a chance to try the toilet but the shower was impressive. My first thought on the roof fan was, how often does it break? 😂 Also, what are the gates on the back for? They don't provide much privacy.

From what I've seen since the first storyteller videos, before the digital screen control, the water heats instantly, you do not have to wait like in other rigs for it to heat up.

I thought they did have 2.5 gallon toilets based on other videos

    • @gosmall.livelarge
      @gosmall.livelarge  Год назад

Yes, the storyteller Overland van does come with a portable toilet, 2.5 gallon capacity. However, for the loaner van, they remove the toilet because previous loaner people did not empty or clean it. But with a 2.5 gallon porta potty I would not be using that anyway because it’s too small.

I love that you are appreciating the red rocks and the outdoors! If you love the red rocks, of course, there’s Utah… But I really enjoyed Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. This is actually a free city park and it’s just amazing to walk on that donated land. I was also surprised about the amazing beauty outside of Utah at Colorado monument. Change of subject…I’ve always wondered how those showers would work. I’m really not using mine much and the Solis lshower really takes a lot of space in my van.

No real toilet and a fussy shower… = …. No thank you Storyteller. But, thank you Scott for being the guinea pig. Try the TrueVan Vision X if you get to the West Coast. It’s a short Sprinter with more of a Travato GL like shower experience.

You should visit the redwood forest fossil area west of Colorado Springs , as well as Skyline drive , west side of Canon City , there are footprints overhead , in the uplift , that use to be an old lake bed

There is so much to know when using any rig. One thing you may not have known is that you don’t need to run the inverter to get power to the USB and 12V outlets in the coach.
My guess is you didn’t have a USB-A cord to charge the iPad. So you needed 120VAC to power a USB-C adapter.
Just wrapped up the video. Thanks for sharing. I would really like you to film a short "wrap up" segment on your time with the STO. My favorite growth question to ask folks is "What did you learn?"
And given your bias and experiences, I'd love to hear, "What did you learn from your time with the STO (good and bad) that surprised you?"
I'd also like to know what you learned beyond the obvious "visuals". I think you touched a bit on the build quality. I'd like to hear more. What did you think about the insulation (temp and sound)? Was it a quiet van, did it keep you at a comfortable temperature? How did road noise compare with your Travato? Any comparisons to the heat/hot water in the Travato? Just as warm? Just as quiet?
And you briefly touched on the ergonomic of the galley. What did you think about the ergonomics of the rest of the coach?
Anyway, thanks for bringing us along...

@@gosmall.livelarge Was it that obvious? It was a five year journey of discovery through RV Shows and Van life content creators, such as yourself to really understand my “needs” and how to fulfill them.
So far, I’m digging my Beast and all of the awesome people in the community.
Take care and safe travels. Maybe we’ll see you at an event or on the road.

Halo shower? More like hal-no shower! Thanks for sharing the solo travel, very enjoyable to watch. I remember the Morrison dinosaur exhibits, those are just plaster of Paris, there's no way they would million-year-old fossils behind plexiglass😂 dinosaurs are Disneyland for adults. Still a fun experience like watching a movie if you can suspend your disbelief. I love the van travel life, home is where you make it.

Loved the tours and in town footage. Good to know you liked Tina’s shower! Out West an adventure type van is so useful and freeing. I sometimes think we spend too much time worrying over the toilet situation considering how much time is actually spent in the bathroom versus the rest of the van. Looking forward to your wrap up.

Love your review of the STO, though your comment of no toilet is not accurate, as your only renting/ temporary use your availability to the cassette toilet is missing. Yes I know not the same as the black water tank toilet your used to in your normal house / van but STO does have a minimalist toilet. Though most either dont use / carry it or they use it in a adaptive construction way.
