Fresno's New Bulldog - Mack LR Rapid Rail

There’s a new Bulldog in town! Fresno has moved away from Peterbilt and over to Mack, joining Santa Cruz as the only other municipality in California actively buying Mack LRs. Back in May, the first 6 LRs started arriving at the Heil Dealership and over the next 4 months, the LNG systems were installed and the trucks were outfitted with radios and decals. This week, Fresno started assigning these new trucks out and on Thursday, the first 6 hit the street. The driver, Al just received this truck yesterday and was still getting use to the new set up. He use to drive 380164, a 320 Peterbilt. Al says so far he likes the truck and it drives a lot smoother than his 320. It’s slower but that’s to be expected with any new truck. Other drivers aren’t so fond of the new Macks. Complaints range from the poor turning radius, to blind spots, to the truck having no suspension. And, for a few of the shorter drivers, they just barely reach the pedals if the seat is all the way down.

LRs look always sharp but the city of fresno color scheme really makes the cab pop! Great work, would love to see more footage of these
