This lecture does a fantastic job of showing how Socrates questioned everything to get closer to the truth. His idea of 'knowing that you know nothing' feels so relevant today-it reminds us to stay curious and humble. Few questions... Why do we realize wise men as wise after death not in the era? Why had they suppressed in contemporary times? Why do we reverse they after death?
Ummm..in the simplest sence its because almost (or may be every) wise men; who have contributed something in the welfare of human race are always ahead of their time. Normal people like us are binded by the mentality to follow established rules and thoughts but they're not the same. So when a men show some capabilities of being usefulto human welfare, he already belongs to the FUTURE. Its only after their death, that thoughts of them become the PRESENT. That's why it's almost like a invisible contract that every wise men will be understood after their death. (But it's also true the death of them are not mandatory but the urgency of them to be ahead of time. Some get recognition after death like Socrates and some at their old age like Schopenhauer
Actually it's sometime since I saw your videos. Was thinking about finding out your videos for somedays now. Thank you for uploading your philosophy videos. One suggestion can you make short videos of your longer ones? 10 minutes or 5 Minutes so that we can watch it in our daily busy schedules. Philosophy is so important for our lives and it's food for thought, so my humble suggestion. 🙏🙏
