Thank you so much for showing all sides and in depth instructions. I just spent $80 on a class with board supplied , I learned more from you! By the time I got my just poured board home what a mess and waste of money ! Sincerely thank you
I love how this came to life, such an elegant charm. I will say if you put all your boards side by side, your first is by far my favorite. This one is sweet and classy, your moon was breathtaking unique, but your first one was exquisite, loud, proud beauty with sophistication to the nines. I know. I know. We all have bias.🤣🤣🤣🥰 Again, your talents are such gifts to the eye. Thank you for that.
You are the marble QUEEN! This is just stunning! So elegant and classic. I haven't had much success with the cutting boards....I think I need to sand them down more! Maybe one more shot and try to emulate this! It's GORGEOUS
So cool! So just make sure knife doesn't come close to painted area as knife would go through resin? I made one and friend used with knife and had to throw away because resin was all over knife and got in food...so I made another and said just use as platter not cutting board. So simple and such a great gift, thank you for this informative video.
So pretty. Loved the layering process with the lilac shimmer and glass shards. Definitely a great gift idea. Thanks Jess. Blessings for a happy and prosperous new year.
Love this! Your work is stunning. I really found how you finished the back helpful. I made a cutting board and struggled with how to make the back look nice and smooth, so thank you for the extra tips :)
Jessica that is beautiful. I have a smaller cutting board i have been sitting on. Just nervous to try it. I was wanting to get your input on resin I have not been doing this long resin in molds about 1 year. Tumblers I have made 9 of them. I am looking to find a good hard resin for coasters and a tumbler resin. Can they be the same resin? What is your advice? If you do not want to answer just say so. Thanks. Sheryl from Indiana 💙🎨💙
Sheryl, you'll want to use epoxy coating resin. I have a great one linked in the description box of this video. I'll link it here in the comment also. For coasters, cutting boards and tumblers you'll want an FDA compliant epoxy. Epoxy coating resin is different from deep pour casting resin. I use all the products from the "Amazing" line with Alumilite - here's a link and discount - 👉 www.alumilite.com?aff=26 👉 FlynnSisters10 for 10% all orders
Such a cute board!! I looove your work and attempt to copy what you do! One question, there are several gold micas, can you tell me which one you used? Thanks so much!
I love it, so elegant can’t wait to try! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience! How do you ship your cutting boards especially the ones with handles
Thank you Nita! I dont sell my items so i haven't shipped a cutting board. I'd be sure to wrap them in tussue paper then secure well in bubble wrap. Make sure its snug in the box.
Wooooooow!!!!!! This is soooo beautiful! What made you get into crafting, where did the name come from? Is Epoxy and resins the same thing and with the white paint can you use any white paint as the primer base?
Thanks! The Flynn Sisters are my 2 daughters. I’ve been crafting since I was a child. And epoxy and resin in this context is the same thing. I use epoxy resin that is a thermosetting polymer. You can google the diff between actual resin and epoxy as it’s kind of complicated. I pretty much exclusively use epoxy coating resin on this channel.
@@FlynnSistersBoutique Thank you. I purchased a different model someone else (not as talented) recommended and then noticed it has 2 settings, 570 or 1100. I was afraid to use it. I’ll purchase your recommendation. Thank you!
So so pretty. I'm getting some girlfriends together for a girls wine night and we are going to make these. Just curious....about how much epoxy total do you think you have in the original work and in the topcoat?
It depends on the size of your board. At the 5 minute mark of this video, i tell you i used 130 ml mixed between all my colors. At 8:27 is where i apply my final coat, 30 ml. Good luck 😄

Interesting. If the resin is fully, properly mixed and cured, it shouldn't get on a knife.
You are such the artist! I love your creations 😍

Hi,I love your cutting boards they are stunning! By any chance do you sell these products and if so where can I purchase one from?
Thank you Matthew. I dont sell, I only teach.
@@FlynnSistersBoutique oh okay no problem thanks for the reply anyways! 😊
Beautiful! These are so much fun to make. How do you deal with the inevitable drips of epoxy/colorant on the sides? Mine look a mess.
come back a few minutes after the pour and wipe off the excess with a gloved hand. thank you!
Everything you create is so beautiful 😍 where can these boards be found?
thanks! you can find them all over, amazon, target, marshalls, home goods, tj maxx, ross
Gorgeous boards. How do you put your logo on?
Thanks! I didn’t put my logo on it so I’m not sure how you’d do that
Can I ask where you found your cutting board? This is beautiful
thanks! i got this from Marshalls last year
Wooooooow!!!!!! This is soooo beautiful!

For the white paint, acrylic would work best
@@FlynnSistersBoutique thank you for explaining everything!
I can’t to see what all you create, so I pray you have a prosperous New Year
I have done my board but the gold is not lovely as I want can I add more stripes if gold and repour more coats of epoxy
You can add more colorant in a second layer sure
Doesn’t tack cloth leave a residue? I’m always afraid to use it and then epoxy because of the residue.
It doesn’t. If it does then you wiped too hard with it.
I looked up the heat gun that your recommend. It goes from 120 to 1100 degrees. What temperature do you use for blowing the epoxy?
Somewhere in the middle to low. Most of
Our epoxies can only withstand up to 500
@@FlynnSistersBoutique Thank you. I purchased a different model someone else (not as talented) recommended and then noticed it has 2 settings, 570 or 1100. I was afraid to use it. I’ll purchase your recommendation. Thank you!
Not sure if you will see this..I can't get the frog tape to stick to my board!! Sanded and cleaned...any suggestions
Maybe try some electrical tape?
Where is a list of your materials. What size board are you using!
Click on “more” below the video to expand the description box where I’ve got everything listed.
Can I print your supply list used in this video?
You can copy and paste it onto a word document and print it that way
I want to do this so bad but I have anxiety about ruining the cutting board lol
get a cheap one first to practice on! you got this!
Hi, is there a reason why all of the cutting board isnt covered with resin?
So you can put food on it. This epoxy is safe for food contact but I wouldn’t use it like a plate
@@FlynnSistersBoutique okay i was wondering if you could cover tge entire thing with epoxy?
How big is your board?
How do you know which resin is food safe?
By reading their safety data sheet.
Most of the coating epoxies we use for tumblers and boards are FDA Compliant
Why would the backside of the board be used for cutting?
It wouldn’t. I didn’t say that anywhere in the video
