Great informative content as usual! For a future breakdown/technical video, I would definitely love to hear you more on yout approach on balancing the ratios, maybe giving us one or two false color references compared to final frames if that's not too much to ask :)
9:40 Great video as always. Would it be a silly thing to suggest using a dremil to grind layers from the pool noodles? That could (hopefully) give you a little more output and still retain the spread and softness of the light.
Hey man, great video! so cool to see a production like this from all sides. (Side note I dont know if its a quality control thing but it seems like you missed grading a shot at 4:14 😅)
new subscriber! love your vibe. quick question- I know you like to use haze, do you have any particular mist filters you prefer to use as well? I've gotten recs for tiffen black pro mist, polar pro mist, even schneider hollywood black magic.
Great video Carlo I was waiting for your breakdown lol Also I didn’t see the link in your description for the pool noodles which one exactly did you get? Would you be able to share a link for that and the black sheet I’d really appreciate it😅
I'm a big fan of your work!! I would love to hear your approach on focal lengths, I also dig the 50mm characteristics, how do you choose or propose the lens to use on your projects?; thank you for sharing!!
can't believe it, just tried to buy the pool noodle and it seems like in my country they just sell all the possible colors except of course white ones...
Thanks for sharing this with us man, it's extremely valuable! ❤ Would you mind letting us know what software you're using to doodle on top of the images in real time?
Carlo why not use Draughtsman paper (translucent paper for architectural drawings) for the Nanlite....it also won't take away as many STOPS as you probably losing with the pool noodle.
The “plastic tube” does not soften the titan tube light. Because the light source didn’t get any larger in relation to the subject. What it does do- is “spread” the light and therefore lowers the contrast. A titan tube is softer in the longer directional, and a harder light in the narrow direction (see her nose shadow). Sheen has nothing to do with the type of light source. Sheen is directly related to the brightness of the light and/or lighting modifier. For anyone curious- you can test this on a mirror. Also- the black diffusion is a money-taker by whomever sells it. If you want to limit the spread from a softbox, just bring it closer (becomes softer) + inverse square law (turn down the power) and there goes your background spill issue. Or use flags to control the spill. All the black diff does is cut down the level once the light source hits it.
Adjusting to that director looks tough! Great video player
But don't you think so that DP who has to adjust to Director's sandbox is ultimately limiting the DP in his creative. Just wondering
@@AbdulbasitYTdude, that’s frikn Danny, leave him alone
