Countless hours playing this game! It was this that made me buy my first voodoo2 card. Then Unreal made me buy the second. Seeing it today, the mechanics are sooo crazy! It was fun so it didn't matter back in the day.
I couldn't afford a Voodoo2 or 3, so I bought a Riva 128. Found out later NFS2SE and Unreal only supported Glide. And 128ZX came out a week later. Nevertheless, For a brief period, I had the the best gaming desktop on campus though.
OMG, I loved this game so much!
I used to take this car because had way Better Handling campared to others but only in tracks with more Corners .....otherwise i used to take McLaren F1
I love the background music
The only thing I never liked about Need for Speed II running 3dfx with 3D acceleration was the removal of the interior view of the cars. With it, you no longer had the dashboard and steering wheel visible as if you were actually inside the car. I liked that a lot. :( Thankfully they managed to keep it on Hot Pursuit and High Stakes.
Is there a way to disable the 3dfx and run the game on software mode only?
1:33
The track is set on Germany because the architectural design and the word Kleinstadt is German word and the meaning is small town
Nice vid. Although I think there are rendering failures, at 2:17 the lightning brakes half on the building and also in the forest, you can see lighter tree foliage some places which I'm quite sure not intentional.
There was no sli setup for 3dfx!
???
Yes there was, it was called Scan-Line Interleave at the time.
